From Term 1 2017, all NSW primary and secondary schools will be invited to start working towards benchmarks for healthy school canteens in consultation with their school communities. The new food and drink criteria, as part of the strategy, introduces ‘everyday’ and ‘occasional’ food and drinks and uses the Health Star Rating to select healthier choices.

Registration for Fruit & Veg Month 2017 is now open!
Fruit & Veg Month is a health promotion program for NSW primary schools that puts a positive focus on fruit and vegetables. The program is supported by NSW Health and registration is free. Fruit & Veg Month 2017 will be held during the last 4 weeks of term 3, from 28 August to 22 September.
Fruit & Veg Month provides free classroom and whole of school resources that promotes kids eating more fruit and vegetables. Classroom activities, including interactive whiteboard materials, are designed to meet curriculum outcomes.

Jack’s FUNtastic Day is a storybook about a boy named Jack who leaves his screen behind for a day to embark on a fun, active adventure. This Early Stage 1 storybook comes with a supporting educator resource and activity cards.
Ready-to-deliver lesson plans and presentations for all stages to assist with teaching students about healthy eating. Teaching modules include teacher notes, a PowerPoint presentation, learning activities and food preparation activity.
Sample scope and sequences to assist with developing a whole-school PDHPE scope and sequence.
