BIOLOGY AND EARTH SCIENCE LAB:
Materials: clean, empty bowl or container, measuring cup, toothbrushes/paste
Procedure
1. Brush your teeth with the water running. At the same time, have another person fill a container with the running water-until you finish brushing.
2. Record how many cups (use a measuring cup) of water caught in the container. Record number of cups here
3. Multiply the number of family members by the number of times each person brushes his or her teeth per day. (Ex. 3 family members x 2 brushing per day = 6)
4. Then multiply the result by the total number of cups of water you collected during your experiment brushing (#2) x (#3 answer) = record answer below: (Ex. 11 cups x 6 brushings/day = 66 cups)
Answer for #4 _____ cups of water are wasted on average in my home from leaving water
running when brushing teeth.
