Free Reviews of Hand Falling Safety Systems

Webinars

Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre in Nanaimo.

The conference theme this year is The Mind and Body “What influences our behaviours” and will provide practical information

and tools for supervisors, workers, owner-operators, or operations managers to help better understand how fatigue and mental

and physical fitness influence safety. There will be a trade show with targeted safety products and services for conference at-

tendees. A video conference will be available in Port McNeill for delegates who are unable to make the trip to Nanaimo.

Conference registration information and forms are available on the BC Forest Safety Council Website.

There is no charge for this conference. Please bring a non-perishable food item to donate for the United Steelworkers’ food

bank.

Do you conduct hand falling activities? Would you like to know if you have good falling

safety systems in place? In 2013, Industry is supporting confidential company reviews con-

ducted by our Falling Safety Advisors. This completely confidential review consists of a veter-

an Falling Supervisor reviewing your company’s falling safety systems. Falling advocacy can

also be provided to coach your Falling Supervisor and fallers at no direct cost. Our Falling

Safety Advisors are here to help!

Contact the Falling team at 1-877-741-1060 for more information.

ager in the Certification and Rate Modification Dept. at WorkSafeBC and a former tree planter, will take you through the pro-

cess to show how your rate is determined. No previous knowledge is required. This is great information for company owners and

management, supervisors, safety coordinators, office managers and other interested participants.

Injury Management / Return to Work This webinar will begin with the basics of what makes an effective program and then will

assist companies in developing a plan specific to their own workplace and activities. Finally, participants will be shown how to

access the tools and support services available from the BC Forest Safety Council.
