Management was against the idea, because:
• “Not everybody can work from home”
• “We have no control over what they do”
• “Some of them will be low performers”
•And…..…….
We did set some rules…
• Use communication tools that retain history
• Attend mandatory meetings
• Deliver what you committed to
People were coming to the office in the morning (team spirit, to sync up,…)
Everybody was on time for mandatory meetings
They set up meetings to meet Face to Face with each other
How the Sprint went?
Their daily routine was more satisfying
They started to use a collaboration tool that the didn’t know about before - FlowDock
How the Sprint went?
Velocity wasn’t changed when compared to other Sprints
Trust between mgmt and dev team improved
Unfortunately we had to return to the office, because of Czech labour law (262/2006 Sb.)
Work hours must be set (no extra pay for overtime or weekends)
A new contract would be necessary
An employer is responsible for employee’s safety all the time
