Arnusch, already a successf ul non-f iction writer, was inspired to write her f irst

children’s book based on a love of reading that was instilled in her early on.

“I was a huge reader as a child. As far back as I can remember, my parents took

the time to read to me and with me and instilled in me a love of words and

engaging stories. This book has been created with the concept of interactive

reading in mind. It’s a lot of f un, no doubt, but I also wanted there to be a

broader message that helped parents to really engage with their kids," explains

Arnusch, whose work is a f ixture in Canadian magazines.

over-abundance of stuff ed toys and, af ter much thought, decides the best course

of action is to give her teddies away to other kids. The book is bound to resonate

af ter the holidays, when most kids f ind themselves inundated with new toys while

the old ones get lef t by the wayside. In this way, T o o M an y T e d d i es  is a great way

to teach kids about how they can translate their own good fortune into a way of helping others who might not have as

much as they do.
