A B S T R A C T
A microm echan ical analysis is prop osed fo r the determinat ion o f the overall
response o f unidirectional co m po sites with non-linearly viscoelastic resins.
Th e non-linear behavior is m od ele d by the single-integral constitutive
equa t ions deve loped by Schapery . The me thod is imp lem en ted fo r t he
pred ic t ion o f t he non- l inear v i scoe las t i c behavior o f un id i rec t iona l
g lass / epoxy and graph i t e / epoxy compo s i tes sub jec ted to var ious t ypes o f
loading condit ions. The predicted response i s com pare d wi th a f in i te element
solution and go od agreem ent between

two methods i s shown to exis t .
