Pinochle

Wednesday, March 11 6:30 p.m. Golf Club (card room) Teena and Stu Jones migrated from PA in December of 2016 to become permanent residents at Somerset. Our fa-vorite game has been Pinochle and it didn't take long for us (especially Stu) to miss Pinochle here. We had a void to fill and decided to determine how much interest we could generate. Our club is really growing! We started with members of various levels of experience from none to card sharks! We meet year round, once a month in the golf club (women's locker room). When the pub is having their full menu, many of us have food and drinks there be-fore cards. Our card session is generally two hours with three rounds lasting about 40 minutes each round. If you already know how to play or are interested in learning, please contact Teena Jones at [email protected] or call her at 717-755-4586.

Photography Club Sunday, March 29 The photography club will sponsor a photo workshop on Sunday, March 29. This will be in lieu of our regular meeting. The workshop will be lead by Joe Fitzpatrick at Fort Myers Pier and historic down-town, departing from Somerset in the afternoon in time to get sunset shots at the pier, followed by shooting the architecture of historic downtown. Joe is a professional photographer and photo educator (https://joefitzpatrickphoto.com) and this is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to learn the fine points of sunset and night time photography. It is open to all, including those using cell phones for photography. The fee will be approximately $85, however could be lower de-pending on the number of people. For anyone who has never taken a photography workshop, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to take better pictures. And for more experienced photographers, you can fine tune your skills. We will need to know the number of people attending as soon as possible and will re-quire pre payment. Please contact Geoff at [email protected] or at 203-610-5194 to register or to get more information. The club is open to photographers and aspiring photographers of all skills and for all types of cameras including cell phone cameras. Anyone interested in joining us is encouraged to contact Geoff Gladstein at [email protected]
