A neurologist is someone who studies the features, diseases, and disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.

The word neurologist comes from the

Latin root words “neuro,” which means “brain,” and “ology,” which means “study of.”

In order to become a neurologist , I’d have to go to school for about 5-8 years. I’d also have to take the Medical College Admission Test. He first 4 years I’ll have to go to a 4 year college or university and work on undergraduate work. I’d probably choose a major in pre-medicine or biology to have a better chance of getting in medical school.

During the next 4 years, I’d have to get accepted and go to medical school.

I could spend my ninth year in a hospital to apply the skills I used in Medical School and then move up to Neurology.

PROS & CONSPros: I would love this

job because I love helping people.

Also, I like the idea of studying the Nervous System and finding cures to different types of diseases.

Cons: I wouldn’t like the fact

that I would have to see people who have traumas because I hate seeing people who are suffering

Using computers to access patients’ files would be a con for me.

WHY I CHOSE THIS JOB☼ I chose this career because since I was six years old, I always wanted to be a doctor. At that time I just wanted to be a regular doctor.

☼Then, when I was 7, I wanted to be a surgeon.

☼At age 10, I found out I wanted to be a brain surgeon, a neurologist.
