1)The Comedown

•The voiceover at the beginning was good because it allowed the audience to understand what was going on•The non-diegetic score music was very effective because it built up the tension as the pace of the character gets faster•The titles were well placed and had an effect to them where its seemed like they were shaking just like the drug effects.

2) The 11th Day

• I thought that the CGI's used were very effective as they made all the explosions seem very realistic

• The different shots used were effective to show good variety• What i found inspirational was how it goes from the news report to

real life• The fast pace editing was effective as it creates tension of when he's

running • The non-diegetic score music and the good use of volume control were

very effective as it built up the tension.

Trailer Length

Most trailers are between 2 minutes and 3 minutes, they are made short so that they don’t give to much information away, but they need to give the right amount and the most important information in order for the audience to want to watch the whole film.

Trailer Titles

Monster-In-Law. Title comes in at 2:24

Circle Of Lies. Title comes in at 1:30

Miss Congeniality 2. title comes in at 2:12

Preachers Kid. Title comes in at 2:21

I noticed that in most trailers the actual name of the film is one of the last things to appear, as to make the audience remember the name of the film. Not many credits are used only the main characters and the productions right at the end.

Trailer Credits

17 Again credit comes in at 2:21 it lasts for just over 2 seconds.

Not all trailers have credits (Another Cinderella Story) most of them do and usually the trailer credits come at the end in order to not distract or take away the viewers attention on the actual trailer. They don’t usually last very long as not many viewers will read them.

The Great Gatsby credits come in at 2:28 and last for around 2 seconds.

Miss Congeniality And Another Cinderella Story

Nostalgia is used in Another Cinderella Story as it is a modern version of the original, and Miss Congeniality 2 is a sequel therefore both of these already have inherited audiences and attract both young and older as the original Cinderella was made in 1950 and the first miss congeniality came out in 2000.

Inspiration From The 2 Student Trailers

• After watching the 2 student trailers I have a brief idea of a some ideas for my trailer. I definitely believe that a voiceover is very effective as the audience can have a better knowledge about the story or character.

• I now have better understanding of good use of volume control and how they are good to build up tension at specific parts of a trailer.

• I really liked the titles in “The Comedown” as they had a shaky effect on them (related to drug side effects)
