Organisations who are looking to take advantage of 4G coverage

Are UK businesses looking to take advantage of 4G coverage?

Enterprise organisations (those with more than 1,000 employees) are more likely to

be looking to take advantage of 4G coverage, than medium-sized

organisations (those with 500-1,000 employees) – suggesting they are more

likely to have the infrastructure and resources available to do so.

Finance organisations are the most interested in taking advantage of 4G coverage, with almost two-thirds making

plans to do so.

The added value and benefits of 4G …

Benefits organisations expect from 4G Source: Vanson Bourne

Medium-sized organisations are more likely to foresee benefits for their

employees, whilst enterprise organisations are more likely to believe

that 4G will deliver benefits for their customers.

Manufacturing organisations are the most likely to recognise the benefits that 4G can bring to their employees but are amongst the least likely to anticipate benefits for their

customers – perhaps a comment on the B2B nature of the industry. In contrast, the finance industry is amongst the

most likely to consider the benefits to both customers and employees – explaining why it is the sector most likely to be

looking to take advantage of 4G.

Organisations concerns over implementing 4G

The concerns over 4G coverage…

The concern which is greatest varies by the size of organisation – enterprise

organisations are most concerned about the security implications of 4G, whilst medium-sized organisations are most

concerned by the newness of the technology.

Retail, distribution and transport organisations are twice as concerned about ROI than they are about security – perhaps demonstrating the importance of increasing

revenue streams for these organisations.

Four in ten organisations are concerned about the

newness of 4G technology (describing it as untested

and having unknown costs) . However, ROI and security are also on the

corporate radar – seemingly always the way

with new technology.
