In an organization, various employee characteristics of

high value includes high dedication towards work,

positive thinking, hardworking, commitment, honesty,

self-disciplined, executing obligations cheerfully, etc.

(Ritter, 2009). While on the other side; the following

employee characteristics regarded as less valuable are

aggressiveness towards the decision making of top

management, low productivity level, overconfidence,

job absenteeism and performing duties cheerlessly.

The values of the executive groups are mainlyconcerned with corporate governance and socialresponsibility. They are worried about thefulfillment of the needs and demands of thestakeholders of the organization including theshareholders, customers and creditors.

On the other hand, the values of an individualemployee consist of the honesty, integrity anddiscipline at work. They seek to work in harmonywith the goals and objectives of the organization.

Comparison between Values and Executive groups VALUES:

Type of CULTURE:If the layoffs continue, then naturally a culture surrounded with insecurity anduncertainty will prevail in the corporation because the employees will be scared ofthe layoffs and would think that they can losetheir job anytime. According to my rankings, the Tough-Guy Macho culture willprevail. In this type of culture; risk is high and high prospect of employee's step-downs or reward gains (What are cultural types?, 2009).

However, on the other side as per the executive group rankings, the Bet-Your-Company culture will exist because this culture easily deals with executive groupvalues. In this type of culture, main focus is on longterm preparation and planning. In addition to this, stress is high because of highrisk factor and delay before knowing if actions have paid off (What are culturaltypes?, 2009).

IMPORATNCE of Culture:The culture is important because it is conceived as way to do

business in the dynamic environment. With the help of culture, it

will connect the individuals of a different region or community

collectively (Importance of Culture, 2009). Besides that, culture is

the only way that can communicate

background to its previous generations of its ability of maintaining

the long-term custom and acquiring the feeling of closeness of

people to the country of different or same culture. In addition to

this, culture also assists in developing identity and common

behaviors between individuals.

Due to change, the culture of organization must be given highly

focus in order to amend the self renewal process of the

organization.

Legal & Ethical Issues:Various legal issues should be kept in mind during layoffdecisions. The major issue or challenge is to considerthe written layoff plan. The complete documentation ofthe layoff decision should be done by the management. This helps in protecting from improper decision.

Another challenge is to keep the clear business reason for the layoff. If the reason is not clear, it can become serious issue for the business. Another big issue should be kept that the layoff decision is not taken on the basis of sex, race, national origin, etc. The assistance of a legal counsel should also be taken in this decision (Spears, 2009).

Legal & Ethical Issues:Layoff decisions in an organization create some ethical and legalissues. Some of the issues, which should be kept in mind whiletaking layoff decision, are described here. The morality of theemployee is affected by the layoff decision of the management.

The other employees of the organization are also affected bythis decision. Their moral and the idle work situation can also beaffected. The major issue before the management is sacrifice.Ingenuity of employees is also a big issue because it is relatedto the ethical choice of the business (Throop, 2009).
