No permission to any Private University to establish off campus study centre.

As per UGC Regulations any Private University may be permitted to open off campus study centre, off shore campus and study centre only after 5 yr of its existence. Till date no Private University is accorded by UGC to establish off campus study centre. Thus PGDCA degree awarded by MGU in technical collaboration with Triumph Information Private Limited as its off campus Study Centre is not valid.

Even the RTI Reply by UGC clearly states that it has not recognized any study centre of MGU outside Meghalaya.

UGC has informed MGU Meghalaya vide letter dated 11th April 2011 to adhere as the following:

“No off campus centre is opened by the University outside territorial jurisdiction of State in view of judgment of Supreme Court in case of Prof. Yash Pal v. State of Chattisgarh. In case University has already started any off campus centre outside state it must be closed immediately.”

DEC by its Letter dated 08-08-2011 stated that Institution will not franchise any study centre in any part of the country or abroad. Thus the technical collaboration done by MGU University with Triumph Information Private Limited as its off campus study centre is contrary to the mandate by DEC.

UGC has directed MGU to close all its off campus centre by 23 July .Before also on 16 April 2009 directions was issued to all University regarding this.
