A newspaper is a scheduled publication containing news of current events,

informative articles, diverse features and advertising. It usually is printed on

relatively inexpensive, low-grade paper such as newsprint. By 2007, there were

6580 daily newspapers in the world selling 395 million copies a day. The worldwide

recession of 2008, combined with the rapid growth of web-based alternatives,

caused a serious decline in advertising and circulation, as many papers closed orsharply retrenched operations

An online newspaper, also known as a web newspaper, is a newspaper that exists

on the World Wide Web or Internet, either separately or as an online version of a

    printed periodical.

Brent Times. The image shows a

print screen of the internet logo

which the black highly stands out

    against a primary colour (red).

People that are mostly like to read

this newspaper are the local citizens

that live within Willesden and Brent.

This is selected as the main story

(splash) as the headline tends to drag

in more readers. They use the most

thrilling story to entice the public

which will persuade them to buy thelocal newspaper.

The side stories tend to be secondary

as it may not be as intriguing as the

    headline. This reflects newspaper

    values.

tend to look for there local citizens.

    The heading Mother,24, found

dead in bathroom immediatelyattracts the local community as it

may be someone the locals know.

And they also include a picture to

    male their story more affective.

For this story two images have been used to

publicise the importance and relevance of the

story. As the situation is very serious the

media havent included puns and word play, the simple headline still manages to draw in

    readers.

Both uses of pictures show the relevance of

the story. It shows where the mother was

found dead, and shows a picture of her. Thispublices a good story which what locals tend

    to look for.
