Founded in 1975 by Rem Koolhass, also the designer of CCTV HQ, and 2 other partners, Shohei Shigematsu and Iyad Alsaka, OMA has made itself a leading company as well as the avant-garde in architecture/engineering industry.

OMA started their journey in China since 2002. Back to that time, State Council just approved SAFFRFT’s request on CCTV HQ rebuild. OMA took this great opportunity , made efforts on its design and pitching and successfully got attention from China and the world.

The CCTV headquarter and its innovative structure were highly appraised by the architecture industry as a new high-rise of European and Chinese engineers’ collaboration.
