Introduction.

• We’ll be talking about the TV show, Doctor Who. Written By Steve Moffat and Russell T. Davies. Doctor Who came about in 2005, and is still airing today on the BBC, and occasionally on Watch Channel. We researched around and this is what we were able to find out.

Primary Research Results.• Intro: I conducted a survey on how many people in my class, watch’s the tv

show ‘Doctor Who’. The Questions asked was like how old, what gender, what would they rate it out of ten and who was their favorite character. This task was to see how many people ,if asked, like the show ‘Doctor Who’.

• The research I carried out was primary research as it was research i conducted myself, as I wanted to find out how many people in my class liked ‘Doctor Who’ . If it was secondary research I would of found out the information online that someone else had done.

• The kind of data that i have is quantitative data because its research that I was able to get a number for . If i had qualitative data it would be a written opinion but as my survey was an opinion based survey it should be qualitative but i wanted a number result not a written one so it has to be quantitative data.

• This shows that ‘Doctor Who’ isnt at popular as the BBC puts it out to be as only 3/4 of the people i asked liked it but didnt think the show was 10 out of 10.

Secondary Research Results.• From searching around, I found out that Doctor Who first aired

on the 26th March 2005, and it first aired on BBC1, and then eventually it started airing in HD from 2010 to present.

• http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doctor_Who• http://epguides.com/DoctorWho_2005/• http://www.barb.co.uk• My findings were that Doctor Who was originated on BBC One

but has only recently been seen viewing on Watch Channel and BBC Three (On Repeat), and for that, Doctor Who has been trying to gain a lot more viewers by broadcasting old episodes on another channel, because different people would view Watch as would people with Doctor Who on the BBC channels.

Typical Audience Member.• This is to me what a typical Doctor

Who fan looks like.• Age: any and all but i would

mostly say young teens.• Gender: both.• Class: I would say mostly middle

class.• Ethnicity: mostly white people,

but you do get the others who are fans.

• Sexuality: It is mostly straight people who are fans but you do get the odd gays and lesbians liking it.
