TITLES/TITLE SEQUENCE

Most crime dramas titles often is a genre signifier e.g. C.S.I when the audience see the title they know it stands for crime scene investigations and therefore the genre is established within the title.

The title sequence often will show montages of bits from the show so in C.S.I they would be showing blood stains, the lab also representations of characters so there could be a character in a lab coat, or someone in a F.B.I

NARRATIVE Crime dramas usually start with the

ending which is a common key convention of crime dramas so it could be a murder and the rest of the show would be unveiling how it has happened, when a season ends that's when the narrative drags on to the next season.

The settings would usually be either in the main head quarters where they have a meeting and decide who does what also there would be a lab that could be the main setting.
