RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research is a logical and systematic search for new and useful information on a particular topic. It is an investigation to
find solutions to social problems through objective and systematic analysis. It is a search for knowledge, that is, search to
uncover the hidden truths. Research is done with close study of the raw reality, experiment, observation, analysis,
comparison and reasoning. Innovative researches will always lead to make new and substantial contributions to the
existing knowledge. Social research may be carried out for a variety of reasons. For students and university academics,
social research is conducted in order to deepen our knowledge about some aspect of social life that we are interested in-
whether our field is in business studies, humanities, or one of the social sciences. We are interested in either testing the
appropriateness of the existing theories or in developing new insights and constructing new theories.
Social science research studies the human aspects of the world. It includes an in-depth study and evaluation of human
behavior by using scientific methods in either quantitative or qualitative manner. It measures the social developments ofthe society and finds the emerging drawbacks too. The work of social science is to watch where the society has been
heading and what more can be done to benefit the entire race. So, social science research is very much present into our
day-to-day life and has a pivotal role in the societal growth and development.
The workshop will highlight clearly and cripsly the recent trends in research process.
OBJECTIVES
To highlight the research process and the characteristics of research approaches.
To explain the different methods and techniques in research methodology. To understand the recent trends and challenges involved in Research process.
