Research into shot types:
Shot Extreme Wide Shot (EWS)- The subject/s cannot be seen, has a wide view.
Very Wide Shot (VWS)- The emphasis is placing the subject in the environment. Closers than a EWS but further away from a WS.
Wide Shot (WS)- The subject should take up most of the frame.
Close Up (CW)-This is used to show a certain feature and the subject takes up most of the frame, if the main subject is a person then the shot is usually from the shoulder upwards.
Mid shot (MS) - This shows some detail of the main subject.
Extreme Close Up (ECU)- This is to shows a particular feature on a character or a detail on an object.
Cut In (CI) –This shows a specific part of the subject in detail.
Cut Away (CA) –This shows something other than the current subject.
Two Shot- A shot with two people in it.
Over the Shoulder Shot (OSS) –This shot is framed from behind a person who is looking at the subject or object.
Point of View (POV) –This shot shows the subjects perspective.
