1 SUMMARY

The current restrictions on travel as the result of COVID 19 means that now more than ever j2 needs to ramp up its electronic footprint across the entire application range. This will deliver a strong reinforcement of the j2 brand as well as an opportunity to generate dialogue with existing and potential clients in the chosen area of application. Other activities running in parallel will also include enhancing the Global company corporate footprint, and clear and concise content build across the full range of applications within the new website. The upcoming release of the new j2 Universal Tool-Kit v7 with added capability and features will underpin the software product line and ensure that it is viewed as an evergreen and improving commercial tool, not one sitting on its laurels.

In addition, j2 are considering a plan to embark on an ambitious programme of creating video tutorial sessions focused on the use and application of j2 software in the university student market but also able to deal with more advanced uses of j2 software in post grad and professional engineering studies and projects. This will use the experience already gained from the direct use of j2 software by PhD students to date in US Air Force Institute of Technology and at Cranfield University.

j2 has already considered competition and other services that operate in the same global market place, with most being internally created coded solutions, specific to a task or tools that enable users to write their own code. A significant piece of the PR strategy will be to clearly differentiate between the various applications offered by j2 and engineers writing their own code.

Where possible we also want to be able to build further corporate credibility from mention and use of existing client relationships in generated content.

1.1 Key tasks: • Formulate site design in terms of look and feel and navigation, insertion of images etc.

• Build pages according to j2 requirements. Each page in the product section must have a user defined colour bar theme.

• Each section and pages must be properly indexed via metadata to facilitate search engine performance

• Search Engine Optimisation

• Website must have clear links to social media platforms in use by j2 namely but not limited to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook.

• There will be a section where people will be able to register to access further information. Registration will include contact details (name, email, company, job description, country.

o Need to extract this captured data into distribution tool like Mail chimp.

• Blog section will be a moderated discussion board section. Only j2 personnel can add articles and only registered members will be able to comment on postings.

• Document library (log/registration in required) - with searches by product titles and by application titles.

• Customer Portal will only be accessible to personnel that have been provided access details by j2. This will include:

o Downloads o Client discussion boards – can include file sharing

• Contact us page to include: o Contact details on office phone, info@ email, LinkedIn etc, map of location and

directions o Direct link into MS teams for video calls etc

1.2 Measurement All metrics required including:

• Track and trace of all users by country and by application

• Run reports on pages visited and pages where the user has left the website.

• Want to track web visits from external links such as social media posts and campaigns

• Time actually on website

• Bounce rate

• Typical Google metrics reporting.

2 STRUCTURE AND CONTENT

2.1 Structure The website will be split into 2 sections. The first section is the Main Pages providing outgoing information in the form of standard webpages. This will contain several subsections that will all be detailed on the Homepage. The subsections will be:

• Applications

• Aerospace Sectors

• Products

• Engineering Services

• J2 AAI

• Company

There will be further detailed pages below these.

The second section is based around user access, discussions and dynamic content. In this section there will be:

• Customer Portal

• Resources

• Blog

• News

• Contact

The top level pages need to be short and to the point. From a general search we would expect the user to land on Level 0 or 1. It is then up to them to drill down into the more detailed levels. Each level provides more information and probably becomes more technical. Drill down process should be easy to navigate.

If the user lands on a level 2 or higher page then their search would have been more specific so they are looking for more detail. Search dynamics will all be about the metatags for each page

There may even be some theory pages (Level 4) for the hard core nerd but it also shows that we are technically savvy and there is solid engineering behind what we do. Got to make a choice between page content and what we put in the resource area as being particularly valuable so we want something in return e.g. email address

2.2 Homepage This is the first landing page. It should contain a brief summary of each of the sections. The main pages (in bold below) each have a summary page and then more details can be drilled down.

The Non Bold pages cover restricted access etc.

Following the top banner, there should be a user definable strapline e.g.

The homepage should be able to show a highlighted news article. The article can be selected by j2 from any of the news articles available.

Each Point has its own page. The Sub bullets have their own pages underneath the main bullets but would not be visible form main drop-down menu, with the exception of Fixed Wing Design, Rotary Wing Design, and PAV/eVTOL Design.

2.4 Products Every bullet and sub-bullet has a page with ever increasing detail. J2 need to be able to add images and icons to new pages so that we can add more items from the portfolio as desired. Each of the individual product pages (3rd level bullet j2…) can have its own j2 defined colour template.

2.8 Customer Portal To gain access there needs to be a way of j2 entering information for customers to give them permission to certain areas.

J2 shall also be able to remove users’ access

The present downloads site has Users and Partners. Partners includes access to marketing material too.

Each download should be recorded and J2 should be notified each time there is a download

Each download should be able to be accompanied by a short description

2.9 Resources This has two levels of access, there is the general information/downloads that are available to all and a Members’ Area. To become a member, there should be a registration page that sends the information to j2. A confirmation email should then be automatically sent out and the details confirmed before gaining access. Membership can be controlled via a blacklist for emails or domains, thus if somebody is abusing the system they can be blocked.

Some resources will be downloads and some may be links to other web pages. It should be possible for j2 to create a web page or upload a document or video and add it into the list. This would include a short description and identify whether it is for members or open.

2.10 Blog The Blog is pretty straight forward. J2 will add pieces of information that can be commented on by registered members. J2 will be able to moderate so that they can remove comments and/or blacklist registered members. People from the customer portal can also comment. These articles shall link to Social media posts i.e.(Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).

2.11 News This is a broadcast site where j2 can put press announcements and other more formal news items. A news item can be identified to be displayed on the homepage as an announcement if desired.

2.12 Contacts A form that will forward a comment to j2.

6 EVALUATION CRITERIA Quotations will be assessed and scored on the following criteria: Quality/ Technical Merit (50%) Supplier must demonstrate they have the technical and professional capability to deliver the requirement. Delivery Timescale (20%) Supplier must demonstrate they can deliver the requirement to timescales above. Cost/Value for money (30%) Does supplier offer value for money. This will not necessarily be the cheapest quote. Scoring Methodology
