ABSTRACTThis education includes contact information for the Office

of Indian Education Programs (OIEP) central, Albuquerque (New Mexico), andpersonnel offices; the division of school improvement; special educationcoordinators; family and child education coordinators; and field educationofficers. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)-funded schools are listedalphabetically. The bulk of the directory is the school detail addresslisting, which is organized alphabetically by field office. Contactinformation is given for the field education offices and for each school intheir areas. For each school, the principal's and school board president'snames are given along with location code, school type, and grade range. Thefinal sections present contact information for postsecondary schools,tribally controlled community colleges and universities, and BIA regionoffices. In school year 2000-2001, 644 elementary and secondary schools and 1peripheral dormitory were operated by the BIA. An additional 107 elementaryand secondary schools and 13 peripheral dormitories were operated by Indiantribes and tribal organizations under contract/grant with the BIA. Twopostsecondary institutions were operated by the BIA, and twenty-five triballycontrolled community colleges and universities were funded through the BIA.The OIEP has 24 education line officers, all of whom report directly to theDeputy Director of School Operations, OIEP. Introduction

This Education Directory was prepared by the Office of Indian Education Programs (OIEP) in theBureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). It includes all BIA funded school listings as well as listing forEducation Line Offices, Tribally Controlled Community Colleges (TCCC), Special EducationCoordinators, Family and Child Education (FACE) Coordinators, and BIA Regional Offices.

In School Year 2000-2001, there are 64 elementary and secondary schools and 1 peripheraldormitory operated by the BIA. An additional 107 elementary and secondary schools and 13peripheral dormitories are operated by Indian tribes and tribal organizations under contract/grantwith the BIA. There are two post secondary institutions operated by the BIA and 25 TCCC fundedthrough the BIA. The OIEP has 24 Education Line Officers, all of whom report directly to theDeputy Director of School Operations, OIEP.

Within the School Detail Listing, the letters directly under the school location indicate the type ofschool.
