Representation is just as much about how its audience interprets its information as it is about portrayal of what we are shown. 5. We must consider why some institutions are presenting what they are to us. 6. The main problem with addressing young people is that the youth market is continuously changing, as well as because youth involvement in mass media is less than the average. 7. 8. 9. There is a gender divide that stops youth from engaging in similar Medias. As well as this the media typically focuses its aim on adults as their target audience. The Vampire Diaries, Smallville and 90210 – because all their characters are in the teenage age range, so the teenage audience will feel like they can associate with the characters that they can see. 13.
