•The opening sequence introduces the class of the family for us through the opening dialogue, which leads us to infer that the family is of working class, we can infer this as the argument seems to originate from monetary problems which is usually associated with working class families

•Another thing that we can infer is that the parents wanted to keep the children out of their argument and we can infer this due to the fact that when we see the parents arguing we can only see them through a slight opening in the door and any time we see them we only see one of them which we can infer that there is a divide between the parents concerning the matter at hand

These scenes help to further reinforce the inference of a working class family who have a dad who is busy at work, we can see that he is a construction worker due to the fact that he is in what looks to be a building under construction, and he is wearing a hard hat and is stood in front of a pile of bricks which gives the connotation of being in a building site, we see this scene in a long shot, so that we can see more of the scene and the props that are to make this locaton a building site.

Another reinforcement of the class inference is that the mother looks to be a stay at home mum, and we can tell as the scene goes straight to the mother, we can see that no time has passed because the natural light in the background is identical, which infers that the mother has no career

An inference about the class of Peter is that he seems to be of a higher class than the father, we can infer this by the way that he is dressed, smartly in a suit and he is also carrying a briefcase, which we infer to be the normal work clothes and apparatus of someone who works in an office or a high class business, and from this we can infer that he has got a higher level of intelligence than the father as he seems to have gotten some sort of successful job or business, the shot is a mid shot, which brings us in for a closer look at his clothes, which would help the audience to establish there inference on his class.
