2014 Babson Survey Research Group and Quahog Research Group
• 11th annual report on the state of online learning in U.S. higher education (published Jan 2014)
• Responses from 2,800+ colleges/U’s
• # of students taking at least 1 online course has increased from 1.6M in 2002 to 7.1M in 2012
• Represents a 16.1% compound annual growth rate; by comparison, overall higher ed student body grew at an annual rate of 2.5% during the same period
• The proportion of higher education students taking at least 1 online course is at an all-time high of 33.5%
