PART I

A. BACKGROUND

To add to the experience of students in science majors in their respective fields, which have been obtained from observation. Industrial visits schools was held on November 2012. Once the activity carried students are required to write a paper

destination of this activity is organized:

1. To add to the experience of students;

2. As a reference for making paper

C. BENEFITS

This activity is useful in adding to the students' knowledge in the field of industry, but it is also as refreshing the students repeat after finished grade.

PROFILE

A. Brief History of POLNEP Pontianak

State Polytechnic Pontianak (POLNEP) was founded in 1987 with the name of the Polytechnic University of Tanjungpura the then new Department has two, namely the Department of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering diploma program II (D II). In 1988 following the Department of Electrical Engineering diploma program II (D II). In its development, its status in 1997 apart from a California State University Tanjungpura Pontianak (POLNEP). Until now POLNEP already have 7 (seven) majors Diploma III (D III) with 11 (eleven) courses consisting of:

1. Department of Civil Engineering and Planning with the Program;

a. Civil Engineering (D III since 1997)

b. PS Technical Architecture (D III since 2000)

2. Department of Mechanical Engineering with Mechanical Engineering Study Program (D III since 1997)

3. Department of Electrical Engineering with Electrical Engineering Program (D III since 1997), and Electronics Engineering Program (D III since 2006).

4. The Accounting Department of Accounting Program opened in 1999 (a division of the Department of Commerce Tata opened in 1994; program D III).

5. Department of Business Administration Program in Business Administration with previous studies program name is Secretariat and Administrative Offices opened in 1999 (a division of the Department of Commerce Tata opened in 1994; D III since 1997).

6. Department of Agriculture with Technology Studies Program Processing Tools (opened in 1999; program D III).

B. Characteristics of Polytechnic Education

Polytechnic education is higher education vocasional. Polytechnic education emphasizes on the establishment of competence to handle the job according to recognized practices well in certain areas. In the process of teaching and learning, learning theory and practice organized to reinforce reasoning skills and skills to handle practical problems.Teaching attribution theory emphasizes the basic concepts with real cases directly through practical problem-solving methods. Teaching practice integrating theory emphasizes proficiency in the handling of real processes that produce finished products.

Vision

In 2020, Polnep is best vocational institutions of higher education and reliable at the national and international

Vocational education and applied research for the improvement of the welfare of the community in order to support national development efforts, appropriate and commensurate with the needs of the community;

Fostering and developing a healthy and dynamic professionalismeDeveloping and utilizing science technology to improve the welfare of the community by empowering resource Polytechnic Pontianak fullest.

D. PURPOSE POLNEP

Destination

Vocational education in various fields of expertise to produce high quality graduates who have a comparative advantage and excellence kempetitif, in the following way: devoted to God Almighty, disciplined and have a high work ethic, knowledge, attitudes and skills of professionals, has an independent spirit (entrepreneurship), Able to communicate effectively through Indonesian and foreign languages (especially English), as well as media usage mengusai communication, informatics and computer, Responsive and easy to adjust to changes, has heightened awareness of moral values, culture and humanity and love of the environment,

Conducting applied research in the development of science and technology to support national development efforts, particularly with respect to industrial development,

Carry out community service for the practice of science and technology through the initiative and active role in helping to build the village behind and alleviate poverty by providing technology services, management and so on,

Fostering and developing a healthy climate of academic life and scholarly msyarakat dynamic form that upholds truth, honesty, open, critical, responsible, creative, innovative and responsive to the changing times,

Fostering and developing mutually beneficial cooperation institutions and government agencies, industry, other educational institutions, both within and outside the country,

Improve the performance of institutions on all aspects of the mission Polnep institution of higher education in order to become a professional

CLOSING

A. CONCLUSION

IT developments are increasingly growing and moving forward, it is hereby concluded that the younger generation should not denganperkembangan existing outdated. SMK print-ready generation.

B. CRITICS

Industrial visit Computer Engineering and Networks in POLNEP less so fitting, because most of us were introduced to the system and multimedia equipment that is not used in the Department of Computer Engineering and Networks.

C. SUGGESTIONS

It is hoped one day POLNEP and SMK Negeri 1 Sambas can work together again in the next period of activity Industrial visits.
