Venue: SHANGHAI NEW INTERNATIONAL EXPO CENTRE SHANGHAI, CHINA

Date: 03 – 05 December 2014

Introduction

Rubber Tech China, the 14th International Exhibition on Rubber Technology and Elastomer was convened at Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 03rd to 05th December 2014. Shanghai is a famous world renowned commercial destination. It is a perfect place that is valuable to see. This famous commercial spot is embraced by Asia and neighbor countries. The beauty lies in ability to embrace its contradiction ancient and modern religious and secular, all co-exist here. China ranked top in world consumption of rubber. In such a place an international exhibition on rubber can attract innumerable number of visitors and interested parties About Fair The fair has been organized by China United Rubber Corporation in cooperation with China Natural Rubber Association and China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association. With the rapid development of Chinese rubber industry, this event became one of the most important events in the world. Moreover, the event was run in association with event ‘8th Asian Essen Tire Show’. The fair area comes to 40,000 sq. meters reached a record high and visited by around 18,000 global visitors. Even though the fair happened amidst NR recession many companies of international fame took part in the fair.

The scope of the Rubber Tech China was focused to the tyre industry, chemical, machinery and raw materials related to rubber industry, including rubber, mould, hydraulic and pneumatic and other equipment relating to the rubber industry was also given much importance. Exhibitor Categories Represented There were 30 broad product categories, which took part in the exhibition as detailed below.

Visitors: The fair was a great success with the visit of international as well as national visitors. Professionals, overseas, senior executives of the companies, delegates etc were visited with great interest. The visitors were representing 97 countries. The important countries are Afghanistan, Bhutan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Taiwan, Vietnam, Germany, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Egypt, Serbia, Iraq, China and so on. Visitors have shown keen interest. Exhibitors: A total of 535 leading companies took part on the exhibition with stalls. They are from various countries of Europe and Asia, but mainly from China. Most of the stalls were with sophisticated set up with huge spending covering up to 200 sq. meters. The rubber sector was represented by 14 companies including Rubber Board and others from Taiwan and China. Rubber Board’s Stall:

The Board’s stall was in the 2nd exhibition hall with 12 sq. meters – stall no. 2B713. The exhibits like posters, charts, samples of various grades of sheet rubber, block rubber, latex etc were exhibited. The exhibitors were provided furniture, power connection points, safe cabinets etc at the stall – stall photographs attached. The stall was equipped with the following.

• Specimen and Samples of all grades of Ribbed Smoked Sheets i.e. RSS IV, RSS 3, RSS 2, RSS 1 and RSS 1X

• Specimen and Samples of Indian Standard Natural Rubber (ISNR) i.e. ISNR 5 and ISNR 20

The Board’s Stall attracted large number of visitors from across the globe. We engaged an interpreter to discuss with Chinese visitors who are not familiar in English. It was a very good opportunity to showcase India as a rubber exporting country and the quality of Indian Natural Rubber under the Branding Initiative by the Rubber Board. The Board was represented by: Officials:

Visitors to the Board’s Stall The visitors to our stall, comparing the visitors who visited the fair was on the higher side. Since the Rubber Tech China is a famous one in the world for NR sector, many genuine interested persons representing a variety of firms visited the Board’s stall. The list of important firms / personalities visited our stall and really interested in rubber import are furnished in the annexure.

The visitors interested in dry rubber and RSS grades were dealt by M/s. Vembanad Rubbers and M/s. Neenu Traders who represented the fair. Board’s officials were always there for assistance and guidance. Further follow up action is also expected from these two firms. Outcome of the participation: The stall could provide an overall idea of Indian Rubber and its export to the various industrialists and agents who visited. It is also learnt that many of the

interested parties are now purchasing Rubber mainly from Vietnam etc at the low cost than that of Indian Rubber. Only if we upgrade our quality we could compete with low rates prevailing in other countries. The officials also could gather a handsome knowledge in international trading. The event ended by the evening of 05th December 2014. On successful completion of the task, we the delegates reached by the early morning of 08th December 2014. Acknowledgement
