REPORT ON INDEPENDENCE DAY Freedom in the mind. Faith in words. Pride in our Souls. Let’s salute the nation on this auspicious day. NPS, Kengeri celebrated Independence Day with great pride, respect and enthusiasm on 15 August 2016. The celebration started off with the arrival of Chairperson Mr. Avinash H.E and Principal Mrs. Geeta Dixit, followed by flag hoisting. School band played ‘National Anthem’ in unison. The ambience was filled with pride and joy of our freedom as the students marched to the rhythm of the band expressing patriotism. The cultural programme continued with the welcome speech and plethora of events. The choir group rendered a soul-stirring patriotic song. The significance of Independence Day was highlighted by the School Captain Master Siddharth Rao Soma and Kumari Gauri R. Students who had made indelible achievements in Taekwondo Competition held by 5 th South-Asian Championship at Koramangala Indoor Stadium were felicitated. NPS, Kengeri takes price in recognizing the budding sports stars in self-defence. The students who were felicitated were Krina H Kotecha (Grade-X) Rishikesh Pramod Uchagaonkar (Grade-V) and Divya V (Grade-IV) who had won Silver Medals each. Principal speaking on the occasion urged everyone to shoulder responsibilities to the best of our abilities while we as citizen enjoy all the privileges provided to us. Declamation of Sarojini Naidu and Bhagat Singh was effectively delivered by Shrishti and Pradyumna keeping the audience spell-bound. The grand finale of Independence Day programme was the musical ballet depicting different facets of our glorious freedom struggle. The participants left the audience awestruck with immense power, energy and patriotic fervour in their performance. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Navneet C Scindia of Grade-X Indeed it was a day to cherish the freedom of our country.
