BIIT’s Workshop Program Ended On August 15 th 2014, a workshop organized by ‘Translation Group’ in association with ‘Bangladesh Institute of Islamic Thought (BIIT)’ held at Help and Knowledge Bangladesh conference room at Dhaka, focussing on the theme of ‘Different Aspects of Translation’. Mohammad Mozammel Hoque, Associate Professor of Philosophy, University of Chittagong was the key note speaker in the workshop. This was followed by a report presentation, giving an overview on ongoing progress of translation work of one of the IIIT’s books Parent-Child Relations: A Guide to Raising Children. Among others, Ms Kaniz Fatima, coordinator of the translation group emphasized on three steps to be taken into consideration seriously in case of this book – first, on the translation of this book; second, on the publication and then lastly, on to be taken parenting as the social movement seriously. Dr. Abdul Awal Miah pointed out two features of a translator: one is the expertise of the translator on the theme to be translated and another one is the expertise on both the languages. Prof. Dr. Abu Kholdun Al Mahmood, Vice President of Publication of BIIT as special guest advised translator groups whether possible to start the study circle on the book - Parent- Child Relations: A Guide to Raising Children, as it would be very helpful to improve its translation quality.
