Jeed Trinity Nur/ Pry Sch Admin on Oseni Laidi street reported operator visited twice in the last (two) 2 months.
Mr Samuel (08127257006) on 20, Femi Orebote disclosed operator have not been seen in month.
Mr Mohammad Mustafa (08033030658) CEO of Moyub Hospital of Hajiya Halima Mohammad close confirmed that operator has not serviced his street in months.
CDA Chairman, Alh F.A Abisiga (08023985244) of 7, Bayo Oyewale street attested to two-three times monthly service by operator. He remarked that operator was now regular due to his position in the community.
Madam Bridget, Civilian Head of the POWA Market Okota confirm operator services are irregular even after paying till end of July 2019.
Mr Lots (08033275239) of His Pride Nur/ Pry sch on Alh Agbeke street opined that no operator comes to cart their waste in years now.

The team went to different locations within the ward to interview tenements and ascertain their performance .
Operator should be served warning and compelled to service all tenements within allotted slot.
Operator service not satisfactory and improve on its service delivery.
Operator is functional but partially effective
Operator does not have the capacity to service all the streets in his ward.
Most of the residents
patronize cart pushers.

Operator has seven trucks, work from Monday to Saturday and covers fifty eight streets.
Mrs Juliet (08061222610) of Baba Ewe street attested weekly operation by operator.
Mr James (08055173681) on 4, Samuel street confirmed that operator services are regular.

Tenements were interviewed at different locations within allotted slot to verify performance of operator.
Residents were encouraged to continue patronizing PSP and desist from using cart pushers.
Operator is on ground and effective.

JELOTS O.O NIG LTD, AGO PALACE WAY WARD
Operator has four trucks and covers thirty five streets.
Mrs Blessing (08141210098) on 21, Rabiatu Agbabiaka attested to regular and effective services by operator.
Residents interviewed confirmed operator work weekly and wrote a letter of inconvenience services during the raining period. Operator now working weekly and effective.

Residents were encourage by AM&E to continue patronizing PSP and desist from using cart pushers.
Matine Exotic Bar & Restaurant was visited by the AM&E team to stop dumping at an unoccupied building and start patronizing operator .
They however promise to start engaging his services.
Operator is on ground and effective.

Operator has two trucks, but only one is presently functional,
Covers thirty - five Streets and services each street once a week on Mon-Saturday.
Makes one trip to the dumpsite daily
Operator said compliance level is 20%
Mr James (08055173681) on 4, Samuel Street confirmed that operator services are regular.
Majority of the residents on Idowu, Onibuore and Owoseni streets dump in the canal and other burn their wastes.
A resident reported that House 18 & 20, Owoseni street usually burn their waste a major hazard to the neighborhood.
Residents dump waste at the junction of Olusola Keku Street which has turned to a blackspot.
Operator has difficulty getting paid for services rendered.

ROTKAS NIG. LTD, ONIWO WARD Operator has three (3) Trucks and (1) one serves as backup. Operator covers about 60 streets, carries out operation on Monday- Saturday. Operator goes on Sunday if there is backlog and once a week service to each street. Operator makes one or two trips a day to the dump site.
The CEO informed us there was about 85% patronage and 40% payment compliance.
Operator was seen working on Olamosuba Street and have previously worked at Agboyin, Adekunle, Kuye, Koya, Enitan and Rosanwo Streets
The CEO/MD is Engr. Ola Kassim - 08033310265 and Supervisor on duty was Mrs Sarah Animashaun – 08083260878
Streets visited were seen to be in clean state

Operator has two Trucks and one of which had engine problem and is under repair since a month ago
Operator carries out operation on Monday – Thursday and clears blackspots / backlog on Friday/Saturday
Operator makes 4-5 trips per week to dumpsite
Operator covers thirty-three streets
Some residents refused to bring their waste to where the truck was parked on Wosila Aina / Disu Esan street. The narrow road and low dropping cables is a major challenge for the operator.
Iya Elero at 25 Wosila Street reported operator has not been seen in five years.
Alhaji Saliu on 8, Wosila informed us about a disagreement with the operator and tenements because prefer operator enters their street . Operator response was not feasible due to the low dropping cable. They have now agreed at a spot where waste can be evacuated.
Mrs Ajagun (08126012653) at 13, Araromi Okeodo spoke glowingly of the operator and are satisfied with its performance. Mr Fatai (09099338881) reiterated Mrs Ajagun opinion.

Operator covers forty-five Streets and carries out operation on Mon-Friday
Operator has six Trucks, three broke down with PTO and clutch issues within the last week and are under repair . The trucks are expected to be running by tomorrow
Operator makes two trips per day to the dumpsite.
The Manager complained about more time spent at dumpsite which has reduced their turnaround time.
He said there is 20% payment compliance
Madam Oge (08148552385) a shop owner at 31, Sekoni street disclosed that operator comes regularly on Thursdays.
Madam Chosen (08148852496) on 7, Odichie Street and her husband affirmed they were satisfied with operator services.
Mrs Salaudeen Kafayat (08037812195) who lives at 33, Sekinah Street confirmed that operator’s services was satisfactory.
At 1, Catholic Mission Street Mrs Okonkwo (08179499851) confirmed operator comes regularly on Saturday

Mrs Gbadebo (07087970864) who lives at 11, Olabisi Street told us the last month service has been irregular and that operator truck sometimes do not enter their street.
She said the drainage construction on the street was taking longer than neccessary and why residents park on the street.
Mrs Kazeem Aina (07069500218) on 4, Olabisi Street complained operator do not issue them bill but usually advice them. come to their office for collection. They take their waste to Gbadebo street where the truck is parked . Operator does not enter their street.
Mr Emeka(08069328187) on the same street said he pays promptly and was satisfied with operator’s services.
Mr Lere Atanda (08136884638) & Mr Odujola of 1, Roju Avenue admitted operator service was regular except for when there was a break down.
Mr Emmanuel (07033120589) a Pharmacy Store owner said operator’s services was regular and is satisfied with their performance.
Operator should ring a bell to announce their presence and liaise with Community leaders who we were told are willing to help clear vehicles that are obstructing their operation
Operator should ensure that bills
are issued to residents
Operator should ensure improved and effective services now that their Trucks are up and running
The Supervisor informed us that they have difficulty accessing inside Olabisi street due to double parking.
The Manager confirmed their operation was slow for some weeks due to a breakdown of two of their trucks.
Both engines knocked and one had an accident recently.

Mr Thank God (08160715244) at 25, Aina Street informed us of having paid for the entire year. Operator was regular and its service satisfactory to them.
Mrs Adesanya Shola (09058564203) on 22, Olatunji Street confirmed operator’s service was regular.
Mr Luqman (07039553484) on 26, Olatunji complained that operator increased their charges and operation had dwindled in the last three weeks.
Mummy Favour (08136371621) on 33, Kujore Street spoke about the need to acquire more trucks by operator.

2.0 BRIEF
An NGO Mondo visited a riverine area Apollo in Makoko with the Assistant Director, and the PSP
Operator ( Jerrimug) assigned to Iwaya and Makoko located at Yaba LCDA.
The researcher feels the environment is not sustainable for human habitation. And driven with passion
to help the community tackle waste in the environment.
The AME DEPT CENTRAL District was contacted for a pre visit inspection before the real clean up
exercise. The cleaning up exercise is on 21st of September, 2019, which coincide with the World
Clean Up Day.
3.0 OBSERVATION

The environment has no major Government Developmental Projects
There is over three health centres in the community.
The major occupation of the people is fishing (90%) are into fishing.
They have been inhabiting the community for over 100 years.
The population is over 100,000 people including children.
Business transaction is done on water using boats for transportation.
Major health challenges confronting the community is malaria and typhoid especially during
raining season.
The people are low income earners and mostly are into trade and fishing.
Over 70% population are illiterates and live below poverty level.
The Mondo4 Africa representative request LAWMA provide personnel and trucks for waste
evacuation.
4.0 ACTION TAKEN
The representative of the community was interviewed concerning the cultural values and
beliefs
The team conducted an assessment tour of using boat to move around on the water.
Pictures were taken while on board.
PSP assigned to the area was interviewed if residents pay for waste services.
Mini dump sites were seen on the lagoon in the community.
The researcher has already consulted the community heads in mobilizing support from the
people.
5.0 RECOMMENDATION
Government should resuscitate the marine waste department to mitigate the challenges of
wastes in the riverine communities.
A Lawma intervention was needed to clear the waste of the riverine dwellers
Sustainability of programme should continue by licensing more PSP operators.
Lawma should partner with NGO on sustainable waste management of the riverine area.
There is a need for education and awareness campaign
