Replication Server

• StoreGrid supports replicating a backup server to a replication server. • Replicating the backup data in the backup server is done to create

redundant copies of the backup data. • In case the backup server crashes, it can be restored from the replicated

data in the replication server.

• StoreGrid Backup Server can be restored from the replication server

Replication Management

Configure Replication - Clicking on this icon will take you to the "Replication Configuration" page. You can configure and schedule replication of backup data from this page.

How to get here in the StoreGrid Web Console? In the top menu, select: "Server Admin-> Replication Management"

Step 1: Enable Replication Step 2 : Set CPU utilization.Step 3 : Choose Replicate time

In the Primary Server, configure replication and the replication server from the "Server Admin->Replication Management" . Click on 'Configure Replication' tab

Server Disaster Recovery - Clicking on this icon will take you to the "Server Disaster Recovery" page. You can recover the backup server from the Replication Server in case of any catastrophe affecting the backup server thereby necessitating a Disaster Recovery operation.

How to get here in the StoreGrid Web Console? In the top menu, select: "Server Admin -> Replication Management -> Server Disaster Recovery (Icon)"

STEP 1: Disable the network in the backup server so that the clients don’t connect to the backup server during the disaster recoverySTEP 2 : Install StoreGrid in the backup server with the same StoreGrid ID as before.Apply the same backup server license key by going to Administration -> Apply License Key page. STEP 3 : Go to the Server Admin -> Replication Management -> Server Disaster Recovery page. This opens the Server Disaster Recovery screen which has the following fields:

a) Select replication server: Select the replication server name from the drop down list.

b) Select data to recover.

Group & Client configurations and Client data:

This recovers the Client and group configurations along with the clients' backup data

This recovers the Client and group configurations Only

c) Next specify if you are restoring the data afresh to the backup server or just continuing from the previous interruption of the recovery process.

d) Parallel Threads: Number of simultaneous backups that should be recovered from the replication server. By default, it is set to 5.

STEP 4 : Click on the Recover data from the replication server to start the recovery process.

Server Disaster Recovery Reports - This icon will only show up if the server was previously restored from the replication server. Clicking on this will take you to the "Server Disaster Recovery Reports" page where you can view reports for all backups that were recovered from the Replication Server.
