Repete Corporation
Question and answer session
1)1.PLC communication errora) Plc has stopped communicating to the Server
programi) PLC is faulted can be reset by toggling the PLC keyii) RSLYNX is locked up so restart RSLYNX serviceiii) Network cabling is not working to the PLCiv) IF PLC communication fault then fix issue and
restart server.exev) Command prompt use command PING
194.194.194.57
2)68020 system outside file errora) Reboot system from Hard drive and when the last *
appears press escape keyb)The menu appears and you enter a menu item that is
the last menu item +2c) Press CTRL Z
d)Screen displays reset primary memory so answer ‘Y’ for yes
e)Screen displays reset main memory so answer “Y” for yes
f) The screen counts up and finally displays OKg) Press esc and reboot from Hard drive
3)Batching system hangs in mixera) Mixer rules of discharge
I) Surge bin must be lowII) Destination bin must match mixer commodityIII) Mixer routing must be runningIV) RunID of system exceeded 32767V) Liquids have not gone to complete and need
acknowledgment of alarm and accept no flowVI) May not follow rules might be in effect due to
destination formula is not being assigned automatically and it believes the last formula in the destination bin is violating the May not follow rules.
VII) If RunID > 32767 in runbatch database run table then archive all data past tomorrow to empty
database table. Delete all remaining data in run table. Compact and repair runbatch database.RunID start over to 1 and system can function for another 32767 scheduled runs.
VIII) Restarting the server usually works to get out of trouble
IX) Its always repete’s fault4) Security users and password
a) Repete corporation\Config\local\config.ini fileC:\config.ini contains a statement SECURITY OVERRIDE=True
So either remark it out or set it to falseb)Use the Tools menu to find the user menuc) Add a new user and set its passwordd)Use the privileges tab to disable feature the user can
not use5) Archiving data
a) 2009 NXT and newer has automatic archiving any data older than 90 days and the live data is always no larger than 90 days for reports
b)2009 and older has to be manually archived6)Handadd printing does not print
a) Repete corporation\config\local\sif.iniC:\sif.iniREPORTCLIENT=HANDADD_REPORT=(computer name that is running a client and has a printer)
b)Restart SIF.exe to read the new configurationc) Error report indicates why the report is not printing
7)Inventory projection report does not printa) REPORTCLIENT=INVENTORY_PROJECTION_REPORT=(co
mputer name running a NXT client)8) Server computer failed and need to activate warm
backup pca) Verify database on warmbackup pc is up to date
I) C:\repete corporation\sabrepc\database\*.MDB files have dates and times of the last backup
II) C:\repete corporation\sabre-nxt\database\*.mdb (MS Access version)for 2008 and older
III) C:\repete corporation\sabre-nxt\database\*.bak (SQL version)
b)If data is good then call repetec) If repete not available then call Cargill ‘IT’ with
admin rightsI) SQL version attach sql mdf filesII) SQL version rebuild SQL databases from BAK
filesIII) Now the data is the same as the main server
version.IV) Start up the server.exe, SIF.exe, and clients if
system 2009 and newer since the config.ini has a backup server name listedaa) SIF HOST NAME=computer name running the SIF.exebb) BACKUP SIF HOST NAME=computer name running the SIF.exe
V) If the system is older than 2009 then change each client.ini SIF host name entry to the new warm backup server name
VI) Sabrepc system recovery method is verify files are up to date
aa) Sabrepc.mdb files has a plant table entry that nust be the IP address of the warm backup server before the clients and server can be started.
bb) Verify RSLYNX drivers are configured for IP addresses of the PLC and topics are configured correctly.
Node 0 is PLC 1 and must be IP address of PLC1Node 1 is PLC 2 and must be IP address of PLC2Node 2 is PLC 3 and must be IP address of PLC3
9) 68020 system has a scale that reads -999949240023499 and keeps batching intermittentlya) AD scale has poor contacts on ribbon cableb)AD scale load cell wiring has poor connectionc) Scale card in rack has poor connection to slotd)Scale card has failed
e)AD scale ribbon cable communicates in binary like this and when it has a poor connection it reads all 1’s and over flows the register in a negative number.11111111111111111111111111111111111110000000000000000000000001111111111111
f) Check all cables and clean slot connections10) Wyse terminal not communicating on 68020 system
a) RS232 wiring might be loose or grounding intermittently to shield
b)RS232 2 port card might be faultyc) WYSE setup has lost configuration and needs
reprogrammingd)Wyse setup baud rate does not match 68020 misc
configuration baud rate programmed. A slower rate might be more reliable to communicate.
e)RS232 has RF noise and Ferrit clamp can be installed over the cable to filter the noise out.
11) [email protected] is the service coordinator to get you assistance on all service needs.
12) Sabrepc and 2008 and older NXT is not backing up the server.a) Windows task manager is set up to run a task batch
file named hotbackup.bat
b)The Cargill plant ID that was used originally to schedule the task has an expired password and needs to be reset the password
c) The task is usually set to run at 2 am every dayd)The Repete Corporation folder on the destination
drive is not share with full read and write privileges
