WHY DO REPS LOVE REPPING FOR US?

we wanted to know...

don’t just take our word...98% of reps rate their enjoyment of repping as 4/5* and every year hundreds of reps return for the annual dose of Alpine fun. Why? Because they love the experience.

‘Socialising, meeting the passengers and creating a connection with them, hearing their funny stories from their

day during room rounds. Those things really made this job a pleasure. Being

surrounded by the beautiful mountains also helped’

‘The fact that you get to meet so many amazing like minded people and have

the best time with them’

‘Making people happy and creating their best holiday’

‘The skiing, the snow, the beer, the vibes’

“what’s the best thing about repping? ”

FAQSFAQS

FAQSFAQSFAQSFAQSFAQSFAQS

FAQSFAQSFAQS I’m keen to work as many

weeks as possible next season – what can you offer me?On average a NUCO Rep will do 3 weeks a season; however for those keen to work more, we have up to 6 weeks available over December and January and 3 weeks at Easter. We will do our best to give you a great allocation of weeks. Sadly, unlike a traditional season we cannot offer a whole winter, one resort jobs.

I have a full time job / university course will I still be able to work?Yes, the vast majority of our reps have other commitments and work our peak weeks around these.

What are the minimum weeks reps must be able to work?The minimum requirements this season are one key winter week and one key March week i.e:

D11 - Dec. 11th -> Dec. 19th and/or...

J01 - January 1st -> January 9th

-------- AND: ---------

M19 - March 19th -> March 27th and/or...

M26 - March 26th -> April 3rd

The more of these key weeks you’re available for the better for your application and hopeful allocation! If you can’t make these minimum requirements please get in touch to see if we can work anything out.

Is my attendance on the Training Weekend obligatory?Yes, to maintain our high standards and to ensure all new reps have the best possible start, we require all new reps to attend the full weekend.

I’ve been allocated two weeks in row, will I need to travel back to the UK and back out to resort again? Will both weeks be in the same resort?Usually you won’t be required to travel back to the UK and would remain in resort / transfer to your second resort.

I’m on a snowsports committee travelling with NUCO, do I still need to apply and attend training weekend?Yes, for the purpose of repping every application is treated equally so the usual deadlines and standards apply and we expect the same commitment to training and role. However for committee members travelling with us, we can offer a little flexibility on the minimum weeks required.

Do you need to be able to speak French or Spanish?Though a second language isn’t a requirement to work for NUCO, it is advantageous both for your application and allocation.

How much do I get paid? Do I get an employment contract?At no point in time do NUCO employ their resort staff. Reps are contracted as suppliers and are paid a weekly subsistence rate as part of their service agreement (details of which are above). Reps are then required to invoice us for the work that they complete once they return to the UK and pay any applicable tax directly to HMRC as required.

FAQSFAQS

FAQSFAQSFAQSFAQSFAQSFAQS

FAQSFAQSFAQS I am a ski / board instructor

can I work for NUCO?All of NUCO’s lessons and workshops are run by third party suppliers so we don’t hire instructors. So your role would be as a usual NUCO rep.

I’m not a very good skier / snowboarder, does that matter?A basic understanding of the sport and industry is useful, however NUCO doesn’t assess your ability to ski / board. It’s actually a great way to learn, as provided there is space, and your rota doesn’t clash, you can join lessons for free.

Why do I have to pay to attend the Training Weekend?Although we would love to offer the Training Weekend for free, this is unfortunately not possible. We do however try to keep it as reasonable as possible and give you the best value for money. Last year Training Weekend cost £99 and included travel, accommodation, cheese and wine night, snacks and refreshments

and as much other stuff that we can manage, are all included. This year we expect the price to be between £75 - £100 depending on the format and transport to Training Weekend.

Can I request which resorts / groups I rep?In short no, we will allocate you based on your location in the UK, skills, experience, suitability, resort requirements etc and as such we don’t take requests from reps. It is also worth noting; to provide the best quality reps we avoid allocating reps with potential distractions (i.e. their old / current group, boyfriends / girlfriends, where their family is on holiday etc)

I’m really keen to be in the mountains next season so I’m hedging my bets and pursuing rep work with both NUCO and their competitor(s). Is this okay?We can’t speak for our competitors but from our point of view it isn’t appropriate. We require a

commitment from you including to our minimum availability requirements, which would likely clash with the requirements of a competitor.

Is there anything else that I need, in order to be a NUCO rep?You need a smartphone in a good, working condition; one that is capable of installing and running a number of apps required for the role as a rep.

What impact will coronavirus have on the season?Nobody know the exact implications of coronavirus on the ski season or travel more generally, we are planning to run our season as normally as possible and manage potential changes as required. As reps you will play a vital role in helping us with this and at all times your safety will be of paramount importance.

In relation to Training Weekend, we plan for this to happen as usual in France but are also looking at options in the UK should this not be viable.
