I would per-sonally like to thank Glen Roe for getting the Charg-ing station back up and running in the Electric
Area. If you see him thank him. Rusty, Shawn, Benny, Barb and myself worked hard in the shed getting it cleared out for the wash down this past week-end. We need to wash the walls down for the makeover.Big thanks to Paul Rafael, who got left out on the contributions to getting the electric up, and to Mark Selkirk who through the BBQ for us this past Sunday Jan 18th, 2015. We still need some help funding the new Main Charging Station, see Benny, Barb, or myself at the field on the weekends.
BIG CAUTION:Landings have priority over take offs!! If you are waiting to take off, hold your position off the run-way until called landings are completed.Just by calling ‘Taking Off’ af-ter a landing has been called, is not an excuse to go head. The consequence is the landing pi-lot has to take his eye off of his plane. It ruins concentration when bringing your plane in for a safe landing. Please use common sense. We don’t have a control tower to in-struct you that you’re clear for take off. You could be liable if you cause a landing that damages the in-coming plane. Some of these planes are expensive!!
D.B.D.” Don’t Be Dumb.”
HEIGHT RESTRICTIONSWe have been getting com-plaints about planes exceeding designated height limits of 400 feet. Jets going vertical easily exceed 400feet. In addition 3D airplanes doing maneuvers also exceed these height restrictions. This needs to stop! If this con-tinues the airport has the juris-diction to close the field down.Lets all be more careful! Thanks
Mike StonerVice President
I wanted to thank all of the mem-bers that participated in the SAE Aero De-sign com-p e t i t i o n . We had 72
teams which represented more than 620 participants. It was a tremendous undertaking that many clubs could not have taken on.Sam Gengo directed this event and put in a great deal of effort to bring it together. My personal
gratitude To the SAE volunteers. Thank you for your time, thank you for your talents, and thank you for all that you contributed to SAE International. Without you, it simply would not have been successful. Kudos to Sam Gengo for run-ning a first class SAE event. I look forward to working with you all again soon !!The Hobby People Engine Clinic/ Fun Fly turned out to be a winner. Hobby People man-aged to attract a nice crowd for their electric and glow enginePresentations. They gave away glue to all participants and had
a drawing for some engine give-aways. Thank you Hobby Peo-ple.

Tom Wolf has been building and flying radio controlled aircraft since 1966. His first RC airplane was a Midwest Lil Esquire con-trolled by a single channel radio with an escapement. He became interested in scale modeling very early and in 1967 he built his first scale airplane, a Curtis Jenny, from plans that were published in a magazine. Other scale air-craft he has built over the years include a Nieuport 11, P-51 Mus-tang, HP-18 sailplane, Superma-rine Spitfire Mk IX, two Grumman TBM-3 Avengers, a Boeing 314, and two Mosquito FBVIs. Tom has designed over a dozen mod-el aircraft (scale and sport, pow-ered and gliders), including the
TOM WOLF – JUNE MEETING PRESENTATION
Nieuport, HP-18, Boeing 314, and several original (non-scale) designs. After participating in numerous scale fly-in events and local club scale contests throughout the years, Tom began competing in scale on a serious basis in 2002 with his first competition being the Gunsmoke Scale Masters Qualifier in Mesa, Arizona. Tom had such a good time at that first event that he was hooked on scale competition, which has been the focus of his modeling activities since then. Tom has competed at eight US Scale Masters Championships and achieved Grand Champion sta-tus at the 2013 Championships.
He has also competed at Top Gun three times (2007, 2008 and 2012; 13th, 11th, and 6th place respectively). In addition he has competed at three NW Scale Championships (2012, 2013, and 2014). Tom has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of California at Santa Barbara and worked for a de-fense contractor for 33 years before retiring almost four years ago. Tom is a member of the US Scale Masters Association, the Northwest Scale Aero Modelers, the Santa Barbara RC Modelers and the Ventura County Comets.

The Work Resumes!!
Because of other priorities, the Glendale field has not received much attention lately. The lack of attention has result-ed in lots of weeds and an over-grown runway. With hopes of opening up the field to members, by the end of the year, we are organizing working parties to get the place in shape. Here you can see Barbara Brace helping to clean up and Benny Elkouby clearing out the runway

Open flying is restricted during scheduled events.4. No take offs and landings from the pit area, taxiways, or grass.5. 400 feet maximum flying altitude.6. Take-off and landings to be in the same direction according to the wind.7. Down-wind passes over the runway are prohibited when other aircraft are flying.8. Some sort of fuel recovery system must be used when fueling planes to avoid spillage.9. All pilots will follow taxiways directions as posted.10. Pilots will call out their intentions (landing, take-off, etc) and clear the runway quickly.11. There shall be no flying during facility mowing operations12. Flying over the Golf course, access roads or public roads is prohibited.13. Each type of aircraft must fly and pit within the area designated on the map for that type of vehicle. Fixed wing aircraft will have a standard left or right pattern depending on the wind.
Failure to comply with these regulations may result in a citation, loss of flying privilege or both.**Pilots please note, the Field is closed to open flying during all Valley Flyers Events.
ADDENDUM TO RULES AND REGULATIONS1) Fly from the designated flying areas, no taxi way take offs please to prevent low pass collisions.2) Fly on the runway side with the other flyers, to communicate with each other.3) Call your intentions-Taking Off, Landing, Remember Landings have priority.4) Fly the pattern everyone else is flying, unless you communicate with each other. The first one out flying dictates dirrection, or wait til he is finished.5) 3 D stunt flying should be done off the runways to avoid mid air collisions.6) tay within the boundaries as much as possible to avoid mid air collisions.7) Most of all: new pilots at the airfield, If you think you might need help a lot of us are there to assist you, so you don’t crash your plane, or crash into some one. Working on your planes, make sure some one is helping you, I’ve seen too many times propeller cuts to the pilot or bystander.
