RenB � StartUp Incubator Model

One of the Critical FOCUS areas for RenB is the StartUp Incubators as part of its SME initiatives. The StartUp activity in any economy is a critical component and a Driver of the Economy.

New and Young companies are the Primary source of job creation in the Indian economy. Not only that, but these firms also contribute to Economic Dynamism by injecting competition into markets and spurring innovation. Indeed, in light of the StartUp boom which some are dubbing the 'StartUp Economy', this may well prove true. As this trend continues to grow, however, the StartUp Economy is emerging in its own right, now possessing its own market force and instigating a string of positive effects on the economy at large.

As India's vibrant Entrepreneurial Ecosystem is emerging, it would do well to understand the role of StartUps and create support for them to succeed. As we see some of the Indian StartUp Founders turning Angel Investors to support and encourage new innovation in India, we will surely see the ripple effect of their efforts in the long run. Governments should be well prepared to create a culture of StartUps to impact their cities, countries and citizens.

Mr. Shailesh Haribhakti � Mentor & Advisor

Synopsis:

Mr. Shailesh Haribhakti is amongst India's foremost professionals and authorities in the performance and governance of corporations. Besides holding board positions in over four dozen medium and large corporations since the early-1980s, he has been Member, Futures & Options Committee - NSE; Member, Corporate Governance Committee - CII; Chairman, Financial Planning & Standards Board (FPSB), and Member, International Accounting & Standards Board (IASB). He led the growth of his audit & advisory firm to be among the top-ten in the country and serves as Chairman, Desai Haribhakti Group.

He has been the President, Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC, 2003-04); President, Bombay Management Association (BMA, 1988-89) and in the Management Committee, ASSOCHAM. He has taught at IIM Ahmedabad (1981-83) and writes regularly for leading publications and blog. Based at Mumbai, he is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and a graduate of Sydenham College.

Mr. Shailesh Haribhakti is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and the Chairman of DH Consultants Pvt. Ltd. As Managing Partner of Haribhakti & Co., he is deeply involved in Auditing, Risk Advisory Services and Tax Services. He serves on the Board of over ten large Indian Companies and Chairs ten Audit Committees. His passion for quality reflects in ISO 9000 certification for various processes of the Group's operations. During a career span of about decades, he has successfully established many innovative services. His current passions involve SME Ecosystem Transformation and Mentor Capital provision. He strongly believes in the virtues of Corporate Social Responsibility, Governance and promoting a greener environment. He actively promotes these causes through forums like ASSOCHAM, CII and the Indian Merchants' Chamber. He contributes towards their evolution by participating in the process of framing regulations and standards.

Mr. Saiganesh Iyer is a dynamic professional with over 18 years of rich & qualitative experience in the areas of Business Consulting, Process improvements and Risk Management covering various industries viz Manufacturing, FMCG, Retail, Infrastructure, Power, IT & ITES domains spanning across companies like Raymond Group, West Coast Paper Mills, BASF, Pfizer, Colour-Chem, Shopper's Stop, Triton Group, Tata Housing Development ltd. Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co, Torrent Power, Beck (India), Ispat Industries, Kodak India Etc.

He is experienced in developing systems & procedures and contributing towards optimized financial performance, enhancing productivity and business performance. An HRD professional for 18 years a across various industry domains, Ms. Mahira
