Introduction

In order to show off the range in the showrooms, a system of thematic zones has been developed. These thematic zones aim to structure the vehicle displays and improve product visibility as well as the commer-cial effectiveness of the dealerships.

The Renault Sport zone represents the sports seg-ment of the Renault Brand. Mechanical performance, innovation and design are at the forefront of this zone, which has a sports focus.

In the showroom, a large graphic display wall enables visitors to rapidly identify the sports vehicles and discover the sense of power in the Renault Sport zone. The totem shows sequences that draw visitors in to the world of motorsports, while a display wall side unit traces the sports vehicle history that has contributed to the fame of the Renault Brand (optional).

Modularity of zone

Principle1 The display wall is always placed at the back of the

zone, behind the vehicles.2 The vehicles are perpendicular to the display wall.

It must be possible to open the doors whilst lea-ving a passage between vehicles and with respect to the visuals display panel.

DimensionsThese elements are made of an opaque solid-co-loured plastic material in extruded PVC nitrile, 2 mm thick, or aluminium.The finish is a 40% gloss satin finish.

They are finished with one of the following cuts:1 mitre cut,2 or 90° cut.

They are stuck down with three strips of double-sided foam adhesive (w. 9 mm, 5.5 mm thick).There is a 5 mm finishing radius on each angle.

Technical constraintsFor the display walls, the most satisfactory results were obtained with the following machine charac-teristics:eight-colour printing at 720 dpi on mixed cloth (70% cotton and 30% polyester) of 210 g/m2 (opaque fabric).

Description of base moduleThe display walls are put together based on a module of l. 2000 mm x h. 3000 mm.This component is made using an outer aluminium profile, which forms a frame to which stretched fabric is fastened at the front and back. The fabric is fixed in place using a strip that clips into the grooves of the aluminium profile.The assembly is fastened to the floor with steel plates that serve as ballast.These plates are clad with sheet steel with an RAL 7024 grey lacquer finish (in one or two sections).

Module assembly principle The base modules with dimensions l. 2000 mm x h. 3000 mm must be assembled to offer a larger surface area of visuals.In this scenario, the vertical intermediary joints must be discreet, meaning that the modules have to be well aligned with each other.

Fabric mountingThe drawing opposite illustrates the recommended method for holding the fabric surfaces in place.The design of the profile may be adapted, but the following conditions must be complied with:- the beading strip must be installed from the front with very low visibility of the profile on the front (without a cross-member overlap),- the visible surface of the side profile should be smooth (no visible grooves).

Front and back view- An access hatch is installed at the back of the totem.

Its dimensions are: l. 150 x w. 150, 60 mm thick.- It features a curved cut-out so the hatch can be

removed and the power cable passed through. It is held in place by magnets.

- Both sides are veneered in black melamine. The edges are black.

- The hatch rests on support latches screwed to the back to enable it to be fitted back into place flush with the surface.

Screen fasteningThe screen is fastened to the front of the totem. It is hooked in place at the bottom and secured with bolts.

Attachment plateEdges should be rounded off slightly following cut-ting to avoid any risks to personnel in the dealer-ship. The attachment plate shall be equipped with pads to avoid damaging floors.

Multimedia unit and screen

1 43” screenThe screen is fastened to the front of the totem without embedding.

Example of dimensions: h. 564 mm x l. 970 mm x d. 39 mm.

VESA 200 x 200 compatible, it is fastened with a special bracket with anti-theft locking (a simple hook is not sufficient).

N.B. Ensure that the dimensions of the chosen screen are fully compatible with the fastening system.

Check that the screen has a sufficient resolution to support display of content in at least HD quality.

2 Multimedia unitMultimedia unit for displaying video content on the screen in conjunction with the use of a content delivery management solution. The specifications of this unit are to be determined in consultation with the supplier of the content management solution. It is also necessary to ensure that the dimensions of the totem and the unit are compatible.

E.g.: Quanmax MVP225 player deployed for the central digital solution.

Integration of IT equipment

Power supply routing (red)The power supply is routed via the attachment plate via two holes for this purpose. A connection box is installed at the bottom of the totem. An RJ 45 Ethernet cable runs alongside the general power cable.

Distribution (blue)The power cable travels up through the inside of the totem to a socket board.

Ethernet wiring (yellow)An RJ 45 Ethernet cable connects the multimedia unit to the local network.

Multimedia unit and screen connectionAn HDMI cable and RS 232 cable connect the multimedia unit to the screen.

IT equipment access hatches

Principle

The drawings opposite show the electrical equip-ment access hatches.

The design of these components may be adapted if necessary depending on the type of internal frame structure developed by each supplier but the overall dimensions must be retained to allow hands to pass through the opening provided.

Recommended finish: White as for the frosted finish melamine coating.

Technical specifications

Requirement detailsThe purpose of the descriptive information provi-ded below is to define the various aesthetic and technical parameters to be taken into account by the supplier in the design and implementation of the structures.This technical analysis is necessary due to the numerous requirements relating to raw materials, manufacturing methodology, as well as logistics and fitting.DISCLAIMER: requirements are specified for infor-mation purposes only; the production of the struc-tures remains the responsibility of suppliers.

Display wallsPrincipleThese large colour visuals are intended to be prin-ted on stretched fabric.These stretched fabric prints are to be laid out vertically on tensioning profiles and must be easy to replace.FormatsThe concept makes provision for visuals to be installed on a low attachment plate (heavy base to ensure stability) at the edge of the zone, which

requires the construction of frames 85 to 160 mm thick.Two recommended formats: l. 6 x h. 3 m or l. 8 x h. 3 m+ 1 side unit (optional) of the following format: l. 1. 8 x h. 3 mThe structures are to be installed by specialised contractors.Regulatory aspectsSuppliers shall, during design, ensure the stability of the structure through the supply of dynamic and static design calculation notes certified by an approved inspection office (ERPE regulations to be observed).They shall provide the installer with an assem-bly and use note defining the stability conditions of these display walls (air movement, horizontal position of attachment plates, vertical position of structures, etc.).The assembly of these display walls (estima-ted weight > 60 kg for a module of l. 2 x h. 3 m anchored to a ballast plate) requires some pre-cautions as regards handling (risk of pinching under the weight of the plates, holding the vertical frames during assembly, risk of falling during ins-tallation of fabric canvas, etc.).

Rationalisation of formatsThe display walls are to be of a standard height of 3 m.The display will be 6 m or 8 m long and will be made up of 2 m modules placed next to each other and fixed together.In this way, manufacturing is standardised to one module measuring 2 m wide that can be used three or four times horizontally.Printing of visualsA number of 2.1 m wide M1 category printing substrates are available and enable printing on a range of high-quality printing machines while kee-ping material loss to a minimum.The lifespan of visuals used in displays requires the colours to have good resistance to UV light.By way of example, the most satisfactory results were obtained with the following machine charac-teristics:Eight-colour printing at 720 dpi on mixed cloth (70% cotton and 30% polyester) of 210 g/m2 (opaque fabric).The content of the visuals will be made available as a template. Depending on the technical choices and to ensure the perfect assembly of the display

Tensioning framesTo ensure that the fabric canvasses are easy to install and replace, the recommended technique is to use beading sewn into the perimeter of the fabric canvasses that can be fitted into the outer grooves of the tensioning frames.These frames consist of an outer profile assem-bled with a mitre joint, allowing the fabric can-vasses to be held taut without any distortion on one or both sides of the display wall (canvas on front or front and back).These frames are fixed to a ballast plate positio-ned on the floor using bolted angle brackets. Inter-mediary profiles are used to square and space the outer profiles to avoid any undulation in the fabric canvasses.The constituent elements of the frames should have an attractive look and finish to allow a single-side display to be placed with its back to a wall or an opaque facade.When stand-alone or positioned in front of a glass facade, the back shall either consist of a visual, or

be printed in RAL 9007 (or equivalent).

Design of attachment platesThe attachment plates, with format l. 2 m x w. 1 m (two sections possible), must ensure the stability of the wall displays. The company responsible for production shall check the stability of these wall displays by supplying a dynamic and static design calculation note, certified by an inspection office, which meets construction standards (refer to regu-lations for the country concerned).The plates shall be broken down into two succes-sive layers:- 1 cladding plate in hot-laminated quality 5 mm sheet steel, 2 m x 1 m format, with an approxi-mate weight of 76 kg cut back to 98 cm for the dressing-off of the laser-cut edges, with rounded angles of a radius of 5 mm, and holes drilled to allow the frame fastenings to be passed through, with a thermo-lacquered RAL 9007 grey finish.- 2 ballast plates, 1 m x 0.5 m (0.96 m x 0.49 m, 73 kg), 20 mm thick, with threaded holes drilled to bolt the tensioning frame fastenings in place.It is recommended that reinforcements be placed inside the tensioning frames to ensure the solidity of the lower edges of the frames and fastening to the plates (leverage of 3 m in height).

Particular attention should be paid to ensure that the undersides of the plates are protected so that they do not leave any marks on the floor tiling of the display areas, or cause any damage during the assembly/disassembly phases.

Renault Sport totemLocated at the front of the zone, the Renault Sport totem has one side for signage and one side for video. It serves a dual purpose:- to indicate and highlight the presence of the Renault Sport brand in the showroom,- to show products being used in situ as part of Renault Sport events (video).The content of the video shall be determined based on a recommendation made by RenaultSport as part of the «Renault Store» digital solu-tion.Its location is to be planned with due considera-tion for the fact that this totem will have to have a power supply and network connection.This component, format h. 2300 mm x l. 1050 mm x d. 120 mm, is in 10 mm MDF, lacquered across the whole surface, or folded sheet metal.

Floor markingsGeneral descriptionThe outline of the display areas will be marked out on the floor.These markings are 180 mm wide in the form of square corners.They are stuck to the floor with double-sided adhesive strips covering the whole surface of each element.

ManufacturingThese elements are cut out in thermoplastic sheet material, such as extruded PVC, ABS, poly-carbonate, etc., with good resistance to abrasion and impacts. They are solid-coloured in white.Any other materials, including adhesives and honeycomb PVC (e.g. Forex), are prohibited, since they do not offer the resistance required for these conditions.

Compliance of visuals and coloursAll shades have a satin finish with 40% gloss. Particular attention should be paid to comp-lying with the colour code. Colour and material samples shall be provided for approval before production launch. The rendering of each of the

shades in day and night-time conditions shall be assessed, in particular when used on two dif-ferent materials.

Production principleVisuals must comply with the official images of these technical requirement specifications (CCTP). The supplier must submit production drawings for approval, accompanied by all des-criptions of sub-assemblies integrated into the components.Based on the main principles defined in these specifications, the supplier is expected to provide recommendations regarding the choice of mate-rials and the means implemented to comply with the dimensions and aesthetic aspects defined in this document.

VariantsThe supplier is required to provide a definition of components as described in the drawings docu-ment.Nevertheless, the submission of low-cost variants is desired and expected.When the supplier deems it necessary they may submit variants to RENAULT to the procedures

or methods described in the definition docu-ment, as long as these variants correspond to the aesthetic requirements set out and can be used homogeneously on various families of compo-nents to ensure in particular a comparable ageing of colours, along with the expected guarantees.By way of example, any reshaping of component surfaces, different ways of connecting the sub-as-semblies, or changes in materials, decoration or painting procedures, must be reported.

Protection of goods and personsIn particular, the supplier is responsible for the calculation, sizing and operational implementa-tion of structural components, ensuring they are maintained over time, and that the safety of the public who come into direct contact with these components is not placed at risk (in particular for free-standing components).

Technical studyThe supplier shall analyse this definition file, draft a technical summary and produce a folder of production drawings to submit to RENAULT for approval. The samples of materials and colours shall be attached to this folder. A specific sche-dule for the project shall be established, iden-

tifying the passage and validation points expec-ted by Renault.

First batch productionFollowing validation of the production folder, the supplier shall proceed with industrial launch, in particular for tools used for implementation. The first batch for each component shall be assem-bled by the supplier for presentation to Renault and validation where appropriate.

Mass productionFollowing first-batch validation and the potential communication of desired changes, the supplier will receive approval for the launch of mass pro-duction of the components.The supplier shall then produce the components in full compliance with the production folder sub-mitted and accepted pre-production components.

WarrantyA one-year warranty against any production and installation defects is requested.
