BISHOP MILNER CATHOLIC COLLEGE TERM TIME REMOTE/ONLINE LEARNING TIMETABLE YEAR 7 TO YEAR 13
Please find attached our remote/online learning timetable for our students across all year groups in the event of college being closed. All of the staff at Bishop Milner Catholic College are committed to ensure we do our very best for each student in difficult circumstances that have never been seen before. We will be prioritising Year 11 (GCSE) and Year 13 (A Level) for obvious reasons, but we also want to provide provision for every student with the online facilities we now have in place. We appreciate this is not ideal and I have no doubt there will be teething problems, but we must try to overcome them the best we can. All students and parents will be receiving a guidance manual and key information which explains how to use the online facilities and also how to access resources to support their studies. Parents/Carers, please encourage your sons/daughters to engage with the programme, either ‘live’ or whenever it is convenient so they can complete the lesson tasks/requests. Each lessons content will remain in place online after the allocated sessions have passed each day. Students, whilst a minority of you will be very pleased about not being in college, the continuation of your education is crucial and we trust you will realise the importance of completing as much of this work as possible. For the majority, make the most of every opportunity presented to you, the last thing your parents and carers need right now is more worry and concern about your education. Your teachers are here to help and we will do our very best to support you through this difficult period. Below is an explanation of what is included in the sessions outlined on the timetable:
• 1 x Delivery = A lesson delivered via ‘Microsoft Teams’ 10.00am or 12.00pm (Years 7 to 11) 11.00am or 1.00pm (Years 12 and 13). This will continue during term time, until we re-open.
• 1 x Set Work = Set work of quality that can be completed by the student at home and sent back via ‘Microsoft Teams’ to the teacher.
• ‘GCSEPOD’ REVISION PROGRAMME = Independent session for students covering subjects of their choice.
• INDEPENDENT LEARNING/REVISION = Allocated to 6th form ONLY.
• In addition to the above, teachers may provide further resources and work via Sharepoint and Email Kind regards and best wishes Mr R May and all the Bishop Milner Catholic College teachers and support staff

Remote/Online Learning – Student Technical Guide Microsoft Teams
Go to the following website and login with your Bishop Milner email address
and password:
https://teams.microsoft.com
Once loaded the screen will show all your classes, if not press on the Teams
button on the left-hand panel and then click the group you would like to
complete work for
Once loaded press the tab named files (1), you will then be able to view
materials in the folder named Class Materials (2), such as PowerPoints or
worksheets to view and work on before sending them back to your teacher in
the student work folder.

In the files section there will also be a folder called Student Work, inside here
you will have your own folder to send work to teachers, only you and your
teacher can access your folder of work. Work can be uploaded by pressing on
upload, files and then choosing the files you want to upload.
Attending a live lesson with Q&A:
Select the Posts tab from your chosen class and press the Join button

Press the webcam button (1) to switch off your
webcam and press the microphone button (2) to
switch off your microphone (THIS IS
IMPORTANT). Once you have turned these 2
options off, press join now (3)

Select the conversations button for the class to respond to messages relating
to the lesson.
To finish the meeting press, hang up the call.

Our aim at Bishop Milner Catholic College is to provide a safe and secure environment for all our students.

important that you can continue to access this support even though you may not be physically in the
building.
