Why does mass matter?Mass Measurement starts with the mass (loosely referred to as weight) of the total product (liquid and the liquid content in the vapor space) for total inventory. The gauge is installed in a 2 inch opening in the top of the storage tank and a transmitter is mounted on the top of the gauge. The transmitter sends the RF signal to the Mas-ter Control Unit installed within 400 ft of the transmitter. The MCU can receive RF transmitted data from as many as 33 tanks and a single tank farm can consist of LPG or a combination of various we fuels to accommodate the requirements of multi-fuel distribution bulk plants. All product is cULus approved for use in Canada and the USA.

Non-Invasive Option For applications that do not provide an opening in the storage vessel, the Mass Measurement Chamber is an option. This option consists of an insulated chamber on a pedestal that is mounted beside the vessel and houses the mass measurement gauge and transmitter. This chamber is connected to the vessel’s vapour space on the top and a dedicated liquid connection on the bottom.

Rochester Magnetel Gauges

Magnetel gauges are designed to accurately determine the percentage of tank volume in stationary storage applications. UL Listed for LP and NH3 applications, they incorporate a zinc-plated steel counterbalance and an Alinco magnet with the head and all other wetted parts constructed of 300 stainless steel.

Tank Gauging Thermometers

The low thermal conductivity of the plastic maintains the temperature of the sample being measured. The case is non-sparking, has a 120 mL capacity, and meets both API and ASTM requirements.

The thermometers are manufactured in strict accordance with ASTM specifications, and can be easily replaced without any tools.

The one piece Scoop-Master® thermometer was developed to more accurately measure the temperature of petroleum products.

Due to design characteristics, it has become the most widely used tank gauging thermometer in the field. It is molded out of a smooth black heat resistant plastic material that is impervious to the chemical action of petroleum products and aromatic hydrocarbons.
