DAY # 19 April 9, 2020 OBJECTIVE: Measure length to the nearest half or fourth inch and use measurement data to make a line plot. STANDARD(S): 3.MD.B.4 Generate measurement data by measuring lengths using rulers marked with halves and fourths of an inch. Show the data by making a line plot, where the horizontal scale is marked off in appropriate units—whole numbers, halves, or quarters. TIME FRAME:30-45mns. Activity Directions: Print out this inch ruler if you don’t have one at home.

Measure 12-15 items in or outside of your house. Make sure they are no bigger than a 16 oz. Water bottle. Measure the items to the nearest quarter inch. Make a list of the items on a piece of paper. Next, create a line plot on another piece of paper here is an example of what the line plot should look like. Label the line plot with a title. Make sure it’s neat and organized. Now generate 4 questions about your line plot and answer them. Finally, send me a video or a picture on classdojo or [email protected] of your project. Example: Item’s Measured in My Bedroom X x X x x X x x x x x x _________________________________________________________________________ ¼ ½ ¾ 1 1 ¼ 1 ½ 1 ¾ 2 2 ¼ 2 ½ 2 ¾ 3 Finally, Spiral Review:

MARCO DE TIEMPO: 30-45 men.
