Special Instructions for clients using Microsoft Windows® 7 with Remote Deposit Service Online
Although Windows 7 is not been fully certified for use with Remote Deposit
Service Online, the below work around may be used in cases where an operating
system upgrade has been pushed to your PC or you have purchased a PC with
Windows 7 as the operating system. Please note that these are instructions for
making the product work better for you, not a guarantee for seamless service.
Prior to Installation of the Windows 7 work around:
1. Verify that you are using one of the below operating systems.
Microsoft Windows 7 (all versions) 32-bit
Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit (except for Panini scanners)
2. Confirm you have Full Administrative Privileges to the PC.
3. Confirm there are no scanner drivers loaded to the PC that will be used for Remote Capture. If
any of the following items are located on your PC, complete a full uninstall of these items
(including a reboot) prior to performing the Windows 7 compatibility steps 1-20.
Under device manager- with scanner plugged in and turned on, confirm you do not see any of
the following devices:
o TS Device
o TS 215/220.230/4120 (any version)
o Tellerscan (with any extension)
o Panini (with any extension)
o My Vision X
o CX30
Under Control Panel/Programs/Programs and features
o Tellerscan
o Panini (with any extension)
o My Vision
o Remote Deposit Web Client
o Passport Web Client
o Windows driver package-Digital Check Corp

Installing the scanner drivers for use with Windows 7:
1. Log in to your client access portal:
a. Bank of America Direct®-
https://direct.bankofamerica.com, then Receipts and Remote
Deposit Service Online
b. CashPro® Online- https://cashproonline.bankofamerica.com, then Remote Deposit
2. Turn off your scanner and unplug the USB cable from your PC.
3. From the Welcome screen, click Create New Deposit (you will then be prompted to install the
driver).
4. Choose your scanner model and save the Executable to your Desktop IMPORTANT: Do Not
RUN the executable at this time.
5. Locate the executable saved to your desktop using the below chart:
6. Right-Click on the executable and choose Properties.
7. Click on the Compatibility tab.

8. Check the box that says Run this program in compatibility mode for:
9. From the drop down list, select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2).
10. Click OK.
11. Double-click the executable on the desktop and follow the prompts to install the driver. Once
the installation is complete you will receive a Finish button, choose Finish to complete the
installation.
12. Navigate to the location where the driver was installed.
Typically, C:\Program Files\NCR\Passport Web Edition
13. Right-Click pwecsrvc and choose Properties.

14. Click the Compatibility tab.
15. Click the Change settings for all users button (near the bottom).
16. Under the Compatibility Mode heading, select the Run this Program in Compatibility Mode
For check box.
17. From the drop down list, select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2).
18. Click OK, then OK again.

19. Plug scanner into PC by way of the USB cord, turn scanner ON.
20. Restart the driver:
Choose START or (lower left corner of desktop)>All Programs>Remote Deposit Web
Client>Restart Web Client Driver

Special Instructions for clients using Internet Explorer® 8 with Remote Deposit Service Online
1. Open a new internet browser window
2. From the browser toolbar, Choose Tools
3. Choose Internet Options
4. Click on the Security Tab
5. Click on Internet
6. Click on Custom Level

1. Scroll through the security settings until you find Display Mixed Content (halfway
down the list).
2. Click Enable.
3. Click OK.
4. When the pop up security warning appears, click yes.

5. Click on Trusted Site then Custom Level.
6. Scroll through the security settings until you find “Display Mixed Content” (halfway down the
list).
7. Click Enable.
8. Click OK.

9. When the security pop up appears, click yes.
10. With Trusted Sites still chosen, choose Sites.
11. If *.bankofamerica.com is not listed under the Websites area, uncheck the box that says
require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone, enter *.bankofamerica.com in
the Add this website to the zone:, choose Add, and then OK.

12. Choose OK at the bottom of the Internet Options box to finalize all of the created changes.
13. Close out of the Internet Browser and re-launch.
When Creating a New Deposit in the Remote Deposit Service Online choose NO
to the below security question.
