Giving Back Remote Africa Safaris is actively involved, through the Tafika Fund, in sustainably uplifting the surrounding community. Over the years several long-term initiatives have been successfully implemented and maintained.

The building of an outpatient clinic in Mkasanga, which acts as a first aid center for 1500 residents, has been funded through donations via Remote Africa Safaris. Donations to the Tafika Fund, from generous guests and tour operators are used to assist the government-run Mkasanga School in several ways: from the ongoing payment of teachers’ salaries and periodic building renovations, to the purchase and supply of stationery and work books to each pupil on a termly basis. Textbooks, over 2500 library books, desks, school supplies and additional educational materials have also been donated to the school. The Tafika Fund makes a significant difference to present lives and future aspirations of Mkasanga scholars. Funds are also used to fund full educational scholarships to some of the top Mkasanga graduates each year. Guests wishing to give a little more to the Mkasanga School can add items to their safari luggage in line with the Pack for a Purpose program.
