Dear Nicasio Families,
Our students have been working very, very hard to prepare for the Winter Holiday Program
next Thursday (December 20th) at 6 pm. Each student is an important part of the program and
it is vital that everyone attend! Our students will share the amazing poetry they have been writing
with our California Poet in the Schools instructor, Ms. Michele Rivers. The evening will also include a
Winter Art Show, our annual Craft Faire, and a festive sing-along. The event is open for the whole
community. Please spread the word! Do you have items you are willing to loan for the show? Please
see our wish list included in Cougar Tracks. You will also find more information about our Craft Faire
next week. Volunteer slots are available on our online sign-up (www.nicasioschool.org) Thank you for
helping make our Craft Faire and Winter Holiday Program a success!
A friendly reminder that our student council is providing several opportunities to give back this
holiday season by collecting gently used coats for One Warm Coat and canned food for the Marin
Food Back. In addition, raffle tickets are being sold to raise money for student activities. A portion of
these proceeds will be donated to the victims of the devastating Camp Fire. I am proud of our students
for their efforts to support those in need!
Last week you received a survey about the Marin County Free Library’s summer Reading on
the Ranches program. Thank you for returning your completed survey to the main office by next
Monday (December 17th).
Finally, we are excited to announce that Ms. Monica will return to Nicasio School in January to
offer an afterschool theater program for all interested students (grades TK-8)! The program will
culminate with a performance of The Jungle Book on April 4th. Please see the flyer in Cougar Tracks
for information on how to enroll.
All the best,
Barbara
