Albert Imm, age 77, Watertown, formerly of Turton, died at Jenkins Living Center on Tuesday, October 22, 2019. Albert (Al) W. Imm, was born on July 15, 1942, to William (Bill) and Alice (Klapperich) Imm, the 4

th of 5 children and the only

boy. He attended Turton School until it closed, then Doland School, graduating in 1961. After graduation he went to Rapid City and worked on the Titan and Minuteman Missile Sites. Al then worked at the General Motors Assembly Plant at Detroit, MI. In the spring of 1963, he returned to Turton and worked for a local carpenter for 2 years. He then started a custom coup crop a spraying service and began farming and raising cattle and hogs. He married Rita Ann Boik on June 21, 1969, in Turton. They raised four children and continued to farm until 1994 when Al be-came a crop adjuster and worked for Rain and Hail Insurance Company for nearly 20 years. While living in Turton he was on the St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Council, was a town board member, volunteer Fire-man, and served on the Doland School Board. He enjoyed deer and elk hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He also loved to socialize with the “guys” at the Turton Corner Station, the Frog Pond, and his shop. In 2008, Al was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s dis-ease. As his health was declining, he and Rita moved to Water-town in May of 2013. In July of that year he entered Jenkin’s Living Center where he resided until his death. Preceding him in death were his parents, a sister, Kathryn Baker, 3 brothers-in-law, Bill Peterson, John Boesl, and Warren Stone. He thoroughly loved his Father and Mother-in-law, Les and Rita Boik, who also preceded in death. Al is survived by his wife Rita of over 50 years, and their four children, Monte (Angela) Imm of Clear Lake, Vicki (Shawn) Meyers of Cottonwood, MN, Jenni (Chuck) Melvin of Frazee, MN, and Tammi (Eric) Hanson of Holdingford, MN. He also leaves 9 grandchildren, Makayla & Chas Melvin, Jacob & Will Meyers, Sara & Sophie Hanson, and Isabella, Jaymes, and Jonah Imm. Also surviving are three sisters, Florence Petersen of Pittsburgh, Madalyn Stone of Rapid City, and Bernice Boesl of Sturgis and a brother-in-law, Bob Baker and several nieces and nephews.
