RCM II:
RCM II
Report for July 13, 2010
Hello Family,
First off I would like to say thank you for allowing me to be of service as your RCM II for this past year. I had a
lot of fun and I learned a thing or two about myself and the beauty of doing service work at this level. Thank all
of you for this.
Now on to my last report as your RCM II.
On June 19 Cheryl, your RCM I, and I hosted the Trusted Servant Learning Day in Payson at the Payson
Homegroup “From Discovery into Recovery”. Considering how small the meeting room was we (this area)
made it happen and I believe we all had a really enjoyable time. All of the Trusted Servants showed up, but
those that didn’t and you know who you are, including the RD and the RDA for region. All of you did an
AWESOME job representing the committee you are Chairing. Thank you for that. One of the best parts, in my
opinion was the open forum at the end of the day. There was a lot of discussion about how to chair a meeting,
what to do and not to do in certain saturations while you are chairing a meeting of Narcotics Anonymous.
Needless to say it was a very interesting and a learning discussion for all those involved.
We as your RCM’s were given $300 to put the TSLD on and we spent $278.07 that leaves a difference
of $21.93 which I believe Cheryl has to return. We bbqed hamburgers, hot links, chicken, and some kind of
veggie burger stuff just in case. If you didn’t show you missed Lisa K. and I out cooking on the grill. Thank
you, Lisa for your help.

SECRETARY:
July 11, 2010
Hello Family, my name is Alice and I am an Addict.
I have a sheet going around for updates of ALL GSRs, Alt GSRs, Subcommittee Chairs and Officers. This will
be the last month that I send out the minutes to this Area, as my term of office will end at the break next month
(August), and I would like to have as much current information to pass on to the new Secretary. I have put it
out into the Universe that East Valley Area Service Committee needs a new Secretary, and I believe someone is
going to step up and be of service.
For all new GSRs or an Alternate GSRs, please put your information down so we can send you the minutes and
any updates that may come up during the month. Minutes and any updates that happen during the month are
sent via-mail. Those who do not have e-mail we send out the minutes to the address you provide us with, but
we do not send out any updated that may happen after the minutes have been sent out.
Please all committee chairs, send your reports to me right after Area via e-mail, or hand me your hard copy at
Area today. It takes time to get everything ready to send out to the Ares, and I am supposed to have the minutes
out in 10 days after Area. Please help me be of service to you and your home groups.
Cost for copies of June 2010 minutes was $79.15; Cost for mailing June minutes was $33.12; for a total of
$112.27, which is $27.73 under the $140.00 allowed from Area for Secretarial duties for June 2010.
I do believe that Policy and Guidelines committee has updated the guidelines, and we should be able to send the
updates out to the home groups this month.
Thank you for letting me be of service
Alice G.

PUBLIC RELATIONS:
7-11-2010
East Valley Public Relations SubCommittee Report Congratulations to Scott K. who is your new Public Relations Chairperson. Scott is very capable and committed
and active in this committee and at his home group. I will continue to be involved but Scott is the new PR guy.
Please come out and support him and Lisa in their PR efforts.
The Beacon went out as scheduled on June 30th
. Publishing this newsletter we send out to professionals is a
wonderful commitment. I am so grateful to be able to help do it.
We have discontinued the Newcomer Workshops at Recovery and Beyond. We are available to provide
workshops at facilities which for some reason cannot have an H&I meeting but would like to introduce their
clients to Narcotics Anonymous.
We priced getting the video PSA produced with another source. It appears the cost for the services we are
looking for is between $1000-1500. We are trying to remake the Rose City Area PSA we downloaded from the
internet which is technically not usable. We will follow up on another possibility for the work but will probably
use the source of expertise we currently have.
I was forwarded an email which came to the Phoenix Area Service Committee email account. I am currently
coordinating a radio interview for the Sunday morning public affairs show on CBS Radio Phoenix with the
other PI/PR chairpersons in the Phoenix metropolitan area. It will be approximately 20 minutes long,
conversational style with 2 participants from Narcotics Anonymous. We have been invited to submit questions,
topics and information we want to discuss. Taping will be Tuesday morning, August 10th
. I will make every
effort to inform the fellowship when it will be aired so you can tune in if you want.
This has been a wonderful 2 years of PR service as your chairperson. You individually and as a fellowship have
supported me with direction, encouragement, hugs, and fellowship. I am so very blessed and grateful to all of
you for making this 2 years full of fond memories for me.
I will continue to be a resource for this committee and participate with Scott and the wonderful addicts who
choose PR service as part of their service commitments.
Our next subcommittee meeting is on the second Sunday, August 8th
, 2010, 12:30pm at Arizona Regional
Hospital, 515 N. Mesa Dr., Mesa, AZ in Conference Room 1. Hope to see you there.

Hey everyone,
We had 628 call in the month of June with 45 voicemails. The Accessline bill was $93.28 and the Qwest bill was $59.08 for a total of $152.36 or $50.79 per area.
Angela has been actively vetting new volunteers and putting them on shifts, but attrition is taking its toll as we appear to be losing folks faster than we're adding new ones.
Looks like we could currently use primary shift volunteers on Sunday evening, Monday afternoon and evening, Tuesday afternoon, Friday morning, and Saturday morning. We
also have room for more roll-over volunteers throughout the week.
There was some concern that calls weren't being routed correctly on Tuesday mornings,
so I did some testing. It's working as expected. Took a look at the call history, and we're just not getting calls on Tuesday mornings any more. Not sure whats up with
that.
I think we may have a volunteer to manage the 12-step list. Karen Z sees it as an
important resource in our service to the community, and has expressed an interest in
taking it on as our PR liaison when she's replaced as PR chairperson.
Our next meeting is at 7PM on Tuesday, July 13th at the Next Coffee Company on the
corner of Utopia and 59th Avenue. As always, we'd love to see you there.
I want to thank the area for letting me be of service over the past year. I especially
want to thank all the volunteers that make it this possible. You've really been great, and your dedication is an inspiration.
Thank you.
Cheers.....
Robin .
