The tempering ovens series VAW re -present a construction concept whichwas proved, tested and enhanced overdecades and therefore, is suitable formany heat treatment processes on different materials. The nominal temper-atures are 500 °C, 650 °C or 750 °Cdepending on the model in question.

The KIT (Karlsruher Institute of Techno -logy), EADS and IFB (Institute of AircraftDesign, University of Stuttgart), has devel-oped a microwave system VHM which isan internationally patented system.It is the first to reap the benefits of micro -wave technology for industrial applica-tions.
The plant is characterised by a very highfield homogeneity and thus producesuniform product heating.
Microwaves target volumetric heating ofmaterials. The furnace chamber is notheated by the microwave field.
