The pride of every student and staff would be in his/her college. A college may reach heights of glory but without materials like a college magazine, the outside world may not know of it. The essential purpose of a college magazine is to inform, engage, inspire and entertain a diverse readership - including alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and other friends of the college - by telling powerful stories that present a compelling, timely and honest portrait of the college and its extended family. I am happy that there is a dedicated team of staff and students who have brought out the News Letter of our college. This magazine has been made an earnest attempt in this direction and brought out certain

aspects of the college to the eyes of the public so that they may understand and know the college even better. They have presented the stupendous achievements of MRECians in the fields of academics, research, sports and extra-curricular activities, in a fastidious way. Innovations Hub represents the collective work of the team.

The college has been simply unstoppable in its progress as it has been actively involved in various activities that have brought to light the hidden talents of the college students and staff. The highly qualified and dedicated members of staff have always stood shoulder with the management and have carried out their duties with a level of commitment. This magazine has recorded achievements such as:

conferences attended by staff members and students, competitions won by the hugely talented students, innovative projects carried out by students with the guidance of staff, among others. Let’s give our best and make this institution a modern temple of learning through our diligence, devotion and dedication. The Principal of Malla Reddy Engineering

Best Administration Category by Undi Ugadi Utsavalu

at Undi village, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh

National Youth Meet on Safe Water for Future

Malla Reddy Engineering College (Autonomous) organized a two-day national

youth meet under the aegis of National Service Scheme (NSS) in collaboration

with the central government's Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports college

premises. The programme was launched by Dr.S.Sudhakara Reddy, Principal

of MREC(A).

About 600 teens from seven neighboring states

participated in the meet to discuss this problem.

The programme agenda of two day meet was

designed in accordance with the World Water Day

celebrations held on 22nd March.

Programme’s chief guest, Honourable advisor of Hyderabad Metro water works

Dr.Snehalatha briefed the various efforts of the Government in protecting the

resources of safe water in Hyderabad city. She also pleaded the youth to

cooperate the Government’s initiative.

A part of this meet, the attendees

presented their thoughts in the form of

action plan. The possible practical 10

action plans out of hundreds were

extensively discussed in the meet.

Special vote of thanks was conveyed to

the ‘Walk for Water’, ‘Lee Sreyu’

Foundation and the Ministry of

Irrigation, Telangana State for their support in organizing the event.

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATIONS – JAN 2017

Malla Reddy Engineering College (Autonomous) celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary as National Youth Day on 12th January

in a befitting manner. Many activities were organized

including speeches, seminars, recitations,

presentations and sports events. The programme was

inaugurated by the Principal of MREC(A)

Dr.S.Sudhakara Reddy. Founder Chairman Sri Ch.Malla Reddy, Principal Dr.S.Sudhakara Reddy, HoDs, staff and students paid Rich tributes to Swami

Vivekananda on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary. A large number of students

participated in the event held at Auditorium and cultural programmes presented by some of

them enthralled the audience.

Participating as chief guest,

IAS(Rtd) Sri Uma Maheswara Rao said the illustrious life and

deeds of Swami Vivekananda

were an inspiration for all.

Particularly youth need role

models like Swami Vivekananda,

who was not merely a preacher of the Hindu faith, but a great philosopher and reformer.

Swami Vivekananda was of the firm view that India could not rise in the comity of nations

without the youth contributing their share for development and welfare of the masses.

“Youth have a treasure trove of books

written by Swami Vivekananda from

which the values he stood for could be

imbibed,” said Dr.S.Sudhakara Reddy.

Special Guest Prof. Kanaka Rao

exhorted the youth to strive for curbing

corruption and reminded them of their onerous duty of carrying the nation forward.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY-2017 International women's day celebrations were organized by Malla Reddy Engineering

College (Autonomous) on March 8th2017. Chief Guest addressed the students of Malla

Reddy Engineering College

(Autonomous) on women’s day. Along

with her, speakers including guest of

honour from TV9 spoke on ‘women as

champions’. Principal Dr.S.Sudhakara

Reddy welcomed.

He spoke on the challenges faced by

women in the changing world at the

inaugural session. College Founder Chairman and Hon’ble MP, Malkajgiri, Sri Ch.Malla

Reddy said that it was important for the youth to be a part in the nation building exercise

and showcase their leadership talents.

Chief Guest was captivated by her inspirational speech all the way

and said that all women must develop confidence and self-

discipline in order to get success in their professional and

personal life. She said that before fighting for the rights every

person has to know about the responsibilities toward the society.

Guest of Honour Smt.Kalpana Reddy, Better half of Sri Ch.Malla Reddy said that women must develop their special skills to get success in their personal

and Professional life rather than comparing with men. She said that multitasking is special

talent to a women they must use it

for their career development.

Principal Dr.S.Sudhakara Reddy

said that there is much need of

women entrepreneurs for the

society. All the HoDs, staff

conveyed their best wishes for all

the women staff and students.

Malla Reddy engineering College (autonomous) has organized an exhibition of Handloom cloths in association with Srirama Khadi Bhandar, Kukatpally. To help the handloom weavers community, MREC has initiated to wear handloom clothes at least a day in the week. The Principal of MREC(A) appreciated the faculty who have visited and bought the clothes from the exhibition stall. The founder chairman and the Hon’ble MP of Malkajgiri inaugurated the exhibition and distributed the saris for Women faculty and shirts to male faculty. All the faculty assured that they would wear handloom clothes on every Monday so that it will be helpful to the weavers community. All the HODs, staff and students visited the exhibition.
