1.1.1 Quality Inspection Enhancements

Various enhancements have been made for quality inspection.

Anytime 100% Quality Inspection

The Quality Inspection Execution Mode system rule was added to System Rule Maintenance to allow you to perform quality inspection on the SFC start or complete. You can also disable the quality inspection function. This setting is used when the quality inspection is passed on to the third-party application. This system rule is applicable to 100% and less than 100% SFC groups.

Notifying Operators of Sample SFCs in the POD

What's New in SAP Manufacturing Execution (Release Notes)What's New in SAP Manufacturing Execution 15.4 PUBLIC 3

Page 4: (Release Notes) What's New in SAP Manufacturing Execution

When an SFC is marked as a sample, there is a notification for the operators that they can proceed with data collection. An info icon indicates that the SFC is a sample. When all QM DC parameters have been collected, the info icon is changed to reflect this.

Skipping Inspection of the Selected SFC for 100% SFC Group

You can use the QM030 POD plug-in to skip inspection of the selected sample that belongs to the 100% SFC group if the ALLOW_SKIP activity rule is set to Yes. If the sample is skipped, you can see the Sampled Skipped status in SFC Group Report.

QM DC groups are not displayed in the DC Group List for samples with the skipped status. The DC520 and DC521 hook point activities are not relevant for the skipped samples.

Production Activities for Samples Belonging to the 100% SFC Group

You can use production activities (for example, Change Production, SFC Scrap/Delete, SFC Split, Serialize, SFC Relabel, SFC Merge, SFC Step Status, Sign Off, Archive, Log NC, and nonconformance disposition) with sample SFC numbers to change a production for a sample belonging to the 100% SFC group. The sample must be either evaluated (Accepted or Rejected) or skipped.

Less than 100% Quality Inspection at Start

Less than 100% QI has been enhanced. It can be triggered at the SFC start. You need to set the Quality Inspection Execution Mode system rule to Start to enable this function. When the SFC is started, it is added to the SFC group immediately. The system can randomly select it as a sample.

The inspection and evaluation process depends on the Block Order at Inspection Operation system rule added to the Quality Inspection Rules group in System Rule Maintenance. If it is set to Yes, the order is blocked at the inspection step until the evaluation result is defined. If the system rule is set to No, you are not forced to collect data at the inspection step. You can collect data at the step with the selected Block SFC Until Inspection Finished checkbox. The evaluation will be done at this step as well. This system rule is applicable only if the Quality Inspection Execution Mode system rule is set to Start.

Skipping Inspection of the Selected SFC for less than 100% SFC Group

You can skip inspection of the selected sample that belongs to the less than 100% SFC group. The entire SFC group is skipped regardless of the Block Order at Inspection Operation system rule settings and even if the SFC group size is not achieved. SFC group members are not completed automatically if the inspection is skipped. New members cannot be added to the SFC group in the Skipped status.

Collecting Data for Regular and QM DC Groups at the Same Routing Step

Regular and QM DC groups can be attached to the same operation. Operators can collect data for the regular DC group even if an SFC is not marked as a sample.

Serializing Inspected SFCs

You can serialize an inspected SFC number. As a result, SFC numbers are created and the original one gets the Invalid status. New SFC numbers are added to SFC groups that contain the original one. The quantity of the original SFC is set to 0 and this SFC is not displayed in quality inspection reports. New SFC numbers inherit QM-related information, for example, evaluation results and skipped status.

Storing Collected Data in the ODS Database

You can store collected data for QM DC groups in the ODS database to save more space in the WIP database.

1.1.5 Configurable Product Enhancements

Various enhancements have been made for the configurable product.

Co-Product and By-Product Component Assembly Visibility and Control

You can display or hide co-product and by-product components in the Component List by setting new rules for the COMP_LIST_DISPLAY activity to Yes or No in Activity Maintenance: CO-PRODUCT_VISIBILITY and BY-PRODUCT_VISIBILITY. You can manage the processing of co-product and by-product components.

Phantom Component Visibility and Control

The Phantom Component Assembly Visibility system rule was added to the Component Traceability Rules section in System Rule Maintenance to control the behavior of phantom components in Assembly Point (Assemble Components) (CT500), Component List (COMP_LIST_DISPLAY), Auto Assemble Component (AUTOASSY_COMPONENT), and As-Built Configuration.

SAP ERP BOM and Routing Integration with Engineering Change Management

SAP ME integration for the configurable material supports 150% SAP ERP BOMs and routings with SAP ERP Engineering Change Management (ECM). On the production order import, valid master data objects are identified by the production order import logic and appropriate BOM and routing versions are used for the order merge process. Selection of the routing version is based on the order’s planned start date. BOM version is created per each unique BOM configuration identified by the configuration effectivity date.

Routings with ECM are sent from SAP ERP to SAP ME as a single LOIROU IDoc. The LOIROU IDoc XML is parsed into multiple XML structures for the import of multiple SAP ME routing versions. The routing versions are imported in the sequence of their effectivity start dates. The status of the imported routing is changed to a status defined by the new Configurable Routing Default Status system rule (Hold or New).

Change Production Assembly Record Mapping

The MATCH_OPERATION activity rule was added to Change Production (SU540) to control if SAP ME operation and SAP ERP operation are considered when matching existing assembly records with BOM components and their assembly operations in a new BOM.

The assembly record mapping ensures that Component List (COMP_LIST_DISPLAY), Assembly Point (Assemble Components) (CT500), Check Configuration (CT520), Standalone As-Built Tabular Configuration, and Standalone As-Built Tabular Summary Report present the appropriate assembly record data after Change

8 PUBLICWhat's New in SAP Manufacturing Execution (Release Notes)

Page 9: (Release Notes) What's New in SAP Manufacturing Execution

Production is executed. The mapping verifies the component quantity requirement based on the component and its version, assigned operation, and routing step. The system compares the current assembled component quantity to the component requirement, maps the new component assembly quantity, and places the excess or non-BOM components into the respective category in Standalone As-Built Tabular Summary Report.

Change Production Validations

New validations for Shop Order Maintenance, SFC Release, and Change Production help you manage the routing and BOM alignment to ensure the correct component allocation.

1.1.6 SAP ME Overall Equipment Effectiveness Enhancements

Various enhancements have been made for SAP ME Overall Equipment Effectiveness.

Relaxed Standard Rate Configuration

Configuration of standard rates is relaxed by making only Resource, Quantity, Duration, and UoM fields mandatory in Standard Rate Maintenance. Other fields (Material, Material Version, Routing, Routing Version, Operation, and Operation Version) are optional and not required to be populated. If there are several standard rates defined for a resource in Standard Rate Maintenance, the system chooses the most accurate standard rate configuration to calculate OEE KPIs based on the precedence rules.

Calculating Quality KPI Based on the Logged NC Codes

The OEE Quality KPI Relevant checkbox was added to the Main tab of NC Code Maintenance. If this checkbox is selected, an NC code is marked as relevant for OEE quality KPI calculation. When an NC code is logged, it is considered as a quality loss and quality KPI is decreased respectively. If logged NC codes lead to scrapping of the whole unit, it is not calculated twice to avoid double counting. This feature only works if the scrap is triggered using the disposition function.

1.1.8 SAP ME EWM Integration (SAPMEINT)

Various enhancements have been made to support SAP ME EWM integration.

New Standard Interface to Synchronize the Stock

To ensure data consistency between SAP EWM and SAP ME, a new interface is introduced for the stock synchronization. The stock is synchronized at the production supply area (PSA) level. Any stock change in the PSA triggers sending of the change notification message to SAP ME.

Processing Stock Change Notifications from SAP EWM

A new message of the _SCWM_-MFG_NOTIFY_PSA_CHG_EXT type was implemented to process stock change notifications received from SAP EWM. The SAP EWM Inbound Message Enqueuer (EWMInboundMessageEnqueuer) scheduler job processes SAP EWM notification messages from the EWM_NOTIFICATION_QUEUE queue synchronously and sends the processed messages to the Queue Monitor. If the message status is Failed, the message will be reprocessed by the Message Dispatcher scheduler job. Based on the received information, SAPMEINT creates or updates inventory ID records in SAP ME with a reservation to the Production shop order and operation.

Synchronizing Stock at the Handling Unit Level

If there is a handling unit number in the notification message, SAP ME synchronizes the stock based on a combination of the received handling unit number, material, reservation order number, reservation item number, production supply area, batch number (if available), and serial number (if available).

Synchronizing Stock at the Storage Bin Level

If there is no handling unit number in the notification message, SAP ME synchronizes the stock based on a combination of the storage bin number, production order number, material, reservation order number, reservation item number, production supply area, batch number (if available), and serial number (if available).

Storage Bin in Maintain Floor Stock

The destination bin is transferred from SAP EWM to SAP ME and stored in the Storage Bin field added to the Inventory ID Location section in Maintain Floor Stock. You can filter your stock using a storage bin value. The Storage Bin and Production Supply Area fields are always disabled to ensure data consistency.

Reporting a Storage Bin upon Consumption

You can report a storage bin upon consumption so that SAP EWM gets precise information about the decreased stock. A storage bin was included into the outbound Goods Issue messages.

New Fields in the Inventory ID Log Report

The Inventory ID Log Report was enhanced to display additional inventory-related data.
