has with another person. • Healthful relationship- is a relationship
that promotes self respect, encourages productivity and health, and is free of violence and drug misuse and abuse.
• Harmful relationship- is a relationship that damages self-respect, interferes with productivity and health, or includes violence or drug misuse and abuse.
10 types of individuals that are harmful to a
relationship
THE PEOPLE PLEASER
• This type of person seeks everyone's approval.• A people pleaser will do drugs and other negative things just to gain attention from others.
THE ENABLER This type of person supports bad
behavior and excuses the behavior as well.
The enabler may not get the attention, affection, and support they need, so they affect others in a negative way.
THE CLINGER
This type of person is needy and dependent on another person.
The person depends on the partner to demonstrate affection or attention and will never be satisfied on the quality the clinger receives.

THE FIXER
This type of person tries to fix everyone's problem that are not with in their responsibility.
Amy my girlfriends friend is a good example.
Healthy people do not need others to fix their problems because they fix their own.
THE DISTANCER
This type of person does not get emotionally involved and tries to stay active to avoid the other partner.
For example, the office dad who never has time for his family.
THE CONTROLLER
The controller always has to control every situation in other words monopolize their partners life.
THE CENTER
This individual is self centered and everything revolves around themselves.
Me, me, me Like a child’s perspective of life.
THE ABUSER
This type of person may physically or verbally hurt someone.
This person may act gentle around others and act violent when alone.
THE LIAR
A person who is dishonest in a relationship.
THE PROMIS BREAKER
Always breaks his promises and is never reliable.
What to do about harmful relationships
Evaluate- examine the relationship Recognize when you should end the
relationship Find ways to change harmful behaviors Talk to people you trust about the
relationship Discuss honestly with the person your in
a relationship about feelings and concerns
