Coloured markings The portfolio of Cold Applied Plastic (CAP), Anti Skid and Preformed Thermoplastic pavement marking materials are engineered for durability, safety, and aesthetics for road, streetscape and traffic-calming markets.

Specialty markets From highly visible markings for airfields to solutions for private roads, commercial/industrial facilities, shopping centres, car parks and schools.

3 areas of

expertise

When it comes to roads, motorways, airports, hospitals, schools, and

any other place along our routes in life, we don’t always think about

their construction or the science behind how they work—we just

expect them to.

That means every country, government, contractor, architect and

engineer needs the right tools to ensure the communities under their

watch are protected by high-quality, well thought out infrastructure

that keeps them safe and the world running smoothly.

That’s why every Ennis-Flint product and application has the quality

to deliver safety, reliability and clarity—regardless of the project.

With more than 50 scientists, engineers and technicians, and our

Thomasville (North Carolina, USA) Science & Technology centre,

Ennis-Flint supports major innovation initiatives around the

globe. These include extensive customer application simulation

testing, design of experiment testing, prototyping, as well as

analysis and engineering of paints, thermoplastics and MMA.

Some of our inhouse capabilities include microscopy, dry time

testing, accelerated ageing rooms and an airfield simulation

area. This enables a variety of coating trials to accelerate the

product development process—all of which contributes to our

customers’ peace-of-mind in choosing Ennis-Flint. 50+ scientists, engineers

Our technical expertise is backed by NATA who have accredited Ennis-Flint following demonstration of our technical competence to operate our paint, thermoplastic and glass bead testing laboratories in accordance with ISO17025:2005 (Laboratory Competence and Management). These systems function to ensure Ennis-Flint is consistently able to provide products and services that meet customer, statutory and regulatory requirements.

Australian Paint Approval Scheme (APAS) Along with its APAS-accredited manufacturing facilities, Ennis-Flint also has APAS approved products. The APAS seal confirms that regular and stringent testing is undertaken to ensure these products consistently maintain the standard.

The Roadmarking Industry in Australia and New Zealand Ennis-Flint supports the roadmarking industry with its active involvement and gold sponsorship of the Roadmarking Industry Association of Australia (RIAA) and the New Zealand Roadmarkers Federation. By investing in the industry and supporting its initiatives, Ennis-Flint helps members with specialist knowledge, training and product performance insights.

Safer Australian Roads and Highways (SARAH) Ennis-Flint Australia is a proud sponsor and partner to SARAH, a not-for-profit association whose mission is to improve road safety and support those affected by road tragedy.

Hot Applied Thermoplastic

Thermoplastic pavement marking material is a 100% solid compound containing glass beads, pigments, binder and filler which becomes liquid when heated.

In liquid form, the thermo plastic may be applied using standard industry applicators, including hand-liners and truck-mounted equipment.

Intermixed and drop-on glass beads provide retro-reflectivity for night-time visibility of pavement markings.

Preformed Thermoplastic

Ennis-Flint manufacture a complete range of durable pre-formed thermo plastic products engineered for optimal performance, lasting value and to maximise your pavement marking program.

Ideal for transverse markings and inter -section applications, Ennis- Flint Preform is formulated with the highest quality resin, binder, aggregate, glass bead, and pigment systems, ensuring consistent thickness and composition to meet specifications. Precut and ready-to-apply, preformed thermoplastic is simple to apply using a heat torch.

Regulatory Markings

Traffic paint

Ennis-Flint manufacture a full line of traffic paints in both water borne and solvent-based formulations, engineered to meet your specification.

Formulated for streets and motorways to parking lots, waterborne traffic paints are suitable for asphalt, chipseal and concrete substrates. These can be sprayed with airless or conventional spray equipment.

Solvent-based traffic paints are co-polymer based and are ideal for colder ambient conditions where waterborne may not be deployed.

Cold Applied Plastic roadmarkings

Ennis-Flint offers a full line of plural component methyl methacrylate (MMA) traffic marking materials in a combination of monomers, polymers and pigments. When mixed with the appropriate catalyst in a proven ratio, they react exothermically to form a durable, thermoset road marking.

These durable products are formulated to create a highly stable bond between themselves and the substrate.

They offer excellent retro-reflectivity systems in combination with the correct specified beads.

Raised pavement markers

Launched as the first pavement marker over 45 years ago, Stimsonite® markers are the benchmark for innovation, quality and value.

These markers play an important safety function, communicating safe travel path and delineation in the wet, and decreasing crash rates on highways with RPM centre lines.

Glass beads

Pavement-marking retro-reflectorisation uses glass beads partially embedded on the surface of the pavement marking material. Light rays entering the glass beads are retro-reflected back to the driver to significantly improve pavement marking visibility in low light situations and wet driving conditions. Ennis-Flint offers multiple grades of beads to meet all regulatory requirements.

Coloured Markings

Ennis-Flint offers several product technologies, in a variety of colours, to promote clear under -standing of a dedicated-lane’s purpose to shared-roadway users as well as decorative trafficscapes.

Unique in application and performance, these technologies are ideal for streetscape and lane treatment projects where shared roadway safety and aesthetic appeal must work in conjunction.

Preferential-lane colour treatments

These treatments increase the lane’s visibility, identify potential conflict areas and promote the dedicated lane’s purpose to shared-roadway users (commonly cycleways, bus lanes and pedestrian shared walkways).

Materials applied over large-area markings must be formulated to expand and contract with the substrate and changing temperatures, otherwise they can crack or delaminate from the surface.

Longlife Cold Applied Plastics are an ideal choice and combine state-of-the-art methyl methacrylate (MMA) resin compound with hardwearing aggregates and premium pigments. This extremely durable, highly visible and colour stable lane delineation treatment can be specified to meet the non-slip requirements for New Zealand and Australian roads.

TrafficScapes

TrafficScapes products include Preform Thermoplastic and coloured area markings. These products are engineered for durability, safety and aesthetics. Traffic Scapes products are designed to:

• improve safety, especially at intersections and multi-use paths

• enhance visibility for pedestrians, motorists and cyclists

• channel pedestrians across busy commercial parking areas

• promote and/or revitalise community image.
