Nevada Anyone physically operating the crematory equipment must complete a Board approved training which is at least six (6) hours in length; is offered on a national level by persons who are generally recognized as having expertise in the field of crematory services and includes at a minimum, instruction in best practices relating to crematory services, terminology relevant to crematory services; the principles of combustion, the operation of crematory equipment, and the filing of forms and other duties concerning keeping a record relating to crematory services. Texas 16 hours every two years for active licensees, if licensee is 65 or older or disabled active must do 10 hours of CE, inactive licensees that are under age 65 must do the six mandatory hours that consist of 2 hours of funeral service ethics, 2 hours of mortuary law updates, 2 hours of vital statistics, those 65 or older and inactive or disabled inactive do no CE. All licensees that are required to have continuing education must do the six mandatory hour mentioned above.
