THESE ARE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL WORLD LANGUAGE CLASSES.
WORLD LANGUAGES(YEAR LONG – Two year commitment)
▶ YOU MUST COMPLETE TWO YEARS (7TH AND 8TH) TO GO TO THE SECOND YEAR LEVEL IN 9TH GRADE.
▶ YOU CANNOT START A WORLD LANGUAGE IN 8TH GRADE◦ If you don’t sign up to take a language in 7th grade, then you CAN wait and start a world language in high school.
◦ You do NOT need a world language for graduating high school, BUT many 4-year colleges require at least 2 years of world language in high school for admission. Some colleges do not accept credits taken during middle school.
WORLD LANGUAGES (cont.)
ART STUDIO(SEMESTER)
▶ You will learn techniques of drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics to create two and three dimensional art.
▶ You will analyze and critique artworks and understand how art is related to history and culture.
THEATRE ARTS WORKSHOP(SEMESTER)
▶ Activities involving movement, improve, script writing, scene work, filmmaking, voice and performance to develop theatre and acting knowledge.
▶ Students will prepare a variety of foods.▶ Students will use machine and hand sewing
for a construction project.▶ Students will learn basic laundry and
clothing care.▶ NOTE FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR: You MUST
take 7th Gr. FACS Life Skills I in order to enroll in 8th Gr. FACS Life Skills II.
FACS LIFE SKILLS I(SEMESTER)
▶ Students will create a physical model/prototype to address a need or want in society.
▶ Students will learn how to use 3D software for modeling and 3D printing.
▶ Students will learn and apply measurement and dimensioning skills to replicate objects and then create original prototypes.
3D DESIGN AND MODELING(SEMESTER)
COMPUTER SCIENCE 1: APP AND GAME DEVELOPMENT(SEMESTER)
▶ Students will learn a variety of core programming skills.
▶ Students will apply programming skills to create apps and games.
INVESTIGATINGMATERIAL PROCESSES(SEMESTER)
▶ Students will learn to apply the safe, proper use of hand and power tools as they complete a wood project.
▶ Smaller wood patterns (clocks, football helmets, bears, eagles).
▶ Use Microsoft Office 2010 and other Web 2.0 tools
▶ Customize calendars, interior designs, restaurant menus, and more.
▶ Online shopping spree and learn to create and edit videos.
Business Ignition(SEMESTER)
▶ You can earn high school credit for high school level courses taken in middle school (Spanish I & II, French I & II, Algebra I, Geometry, & Algebra II).
▶ The course will be included on your high school transcript with a letter grade AFTER the successful completion of the subsequent course in the subject area in high school.
▶ The letter grade will NOT be included in your high school GPA or for class ranking.

A Google Form has been created for each student to submit all course requests which will be easily downloaded into a spreadsheet by your school counselor.
Your school counselor will use your form submissions so it is important that you resubmit if you have any request changes.
Only the latest submission will be considered.This form is used solely for data to the
counselor. Students still need to register on Infinite Campus and turn in paperwork. The form and registration should match.
