Escape. Create. Celebrate.Welcome to the redesigned Quilt Expo Advance Registration Guide.

We’ve increased the guide’s size and streamlined the layout to offer more information and a simplified reading experience. Look for expanded features, like an enlarged vendor directory and an easy-to-read schedule at a glance.

Quilt Expo remains the Midwest’s premier quilting destination. In this guide, you’ll find hundreds of educational opportunities, an amazing array of vendors (nearly 200!), and information about Quilt Expo’s 10-category juried-and-judged quilt contest, including this year’s brand-new Black & White Plus One Challenge. You’ll also find information on how to join the Quilt to Give community service project.

Discover this year’s highlights, then mark your calendars and make your travel arrangements — all this and more is just a couple short months away.

I look forward to seeing you at Quilt Expo in September!

Happy quilting,

Making Meaning: Creative Ways Quilters Celebrate

Melissa Bourbon

Discovering Creative Inspiration

Quilters have superpowers and they know how to use them!

Coupling big hearts with serious skills, quilters know how to party and how to honor those they treasure. This fun presentation offers unforgettable examples, practical ideas and loads of inspiration. Drawing from 20 years of research on tradition, Meg Cox explores why this sort of meaning-making is so powerful. Learn historical accounts and striking examples from today’s quilters. Meg shares milestones from her own life using quilts and crafts.

What do murder mysteries and quilting have in common?

Join national bestselling author Melissa Bourbon as she talks about weaving together her love of sewing and writing to create a bestselling cozy mystery series. Take a dollop of dressmaking, a murder (or two) and a dose of magic and you have “A Magical Dressmaking Mystery” series. Join Melissa as she talks about her writing and gives other examples of finding inspiration and bridging creative passions.

Quilt to GiveThe gift is in the giving! Share your love of quilting by taking time to sit-and-sew at our community service project. This year, our goal is to make and/or collect a total of 25 twin-sized quilts, which will be donated to abuse shelters: Enchanted Makeovers and Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS).

Here’s how to participate:

• Plan a 1/2-hour or more to sit, sew and give. • Donate fabric in bright colors: 1/4 yd. or more. • Donate a finished, new twin-sized bed quilt.

Review the quilting process ahead of time at nancyzieman.com/blog: Click on “Quilt To Give.”
